hay everybody wats up?

well we all know the winter months are here and in some places the snow is already 1 foot deep.

now with my tiburon stored in its nice little garage (will never see snow) i have been thinking

.... a rally style tiburon..... yeah i said it "rally style tiburon"

i have a few dollars i can spare this winter and i have been thinking of buying another tib (ftw!!!!!)

but i want to take a new approach....

most people lower the car.... i want to raise it.
most people put nice interiors and sound systems in the car.... i want to gut it out!!
most people want the sick rims..... i want to put steelies
most people think i am crazy for thinking of this.... i think i might be too

well i just want peoples opinion on this subject.

should i invest in making a tiburon a rally style car?
my plans;

raise it as much as possible
put metal sheeting on the under carriage
gut the interior of all non-necessary parts (trim pieces, back seats, carpet, dash, radio
put some plain jane rims
maybe a roll cage.....just a thought for now..

well now let the opinions fly!!!
make fun of it, give me some ideas, shoot it down...

the tib was bad for rally. i used to follow wrc a lot. many complained about the wrc tiburon due to how heavy the front was. the only hyundai(waits for bashing) that actually won the races was the accent wrc. which is still around. it runs a 2.0 turbo awd, in the accent body. its insane. i happen to know a decent amount about this. let me know what you would like to know

you should do it with a '90s RD-1 tib.

GKs just dont look right rallied out, LOL. theyre way too pretty to be playing in that dirt.

in addition to your list you'd need at least a limited slip diff in the front, if not some kind of frankenstined AWD.

i get what your saying... no im not gonna do any (real rally races) my cousin owns land in a small town about 20 min from my house so i would prolly just run it up there if i do go through with this...
now for the super charger part..... i have an i4 and its auto..... i know ngm make a supercharger kit but im not too convinced....... i like superchargers more than turbos (less worries) but yeah i completely understand what you are saying....

If you are only doing light mods its going to be poop for rally. FWD no work so good in dirts! AWD my friend and it will be sick. Keep us posted

i thought about doing the turbo but its not something i would be into, i had a conquest with a garret t3 and i loved it but im over it...
my friend has a redline ion and its supercharged i really want to keep up with him.....my girl already thinks i play with myself in my car so the last thing i need for her is to think im cheating

thanks mikey for posting those pics of the rally tib. that car won a 2006 championship and the 07 model wont the 2007 championship. so definitely not a bad idea. just will take time and money (which as you mentioned, wont be an issue).
