It looks like you are about 1/4 revolution off, crank must have moved. Take the pulley back off and check the timing mark on the lower timing belt pulley, there is a V shaped notch on the pulley and a triangular mark on the front of the engine at about 1 O'clock, these should line up. if they don't, you're gonna have to remove the timing belt and rotate the crank (without moving the cams) until the marks line up, then re-install the belt.

EDIT: Charlie beat me to it

He can turn it the 1/4 turn needed to line up the timing mark without the belt installed, but that is all, with the cam timing marks lined up, some of the valves are open so if the crank is rotated a full revolution (or maybe even less) there is a high likelihood that a couple of the pistons will hit the open valves. it is only ok to rotate the crank fully when everything is properly lined up.

Not trying to be harsh.... but some peeps here need to understand auto mechanics 100 & 101 before doing some work.
It's not just "how", but "why". Knowing the whole system allows knowing the "why". Knowing "why" allows digging out of a hole when things go FUBAR......
And, to back Charlie up here.....

If you follow the DIY to the letter and don't make any mistakes, this job will come out fine but if you make one mistake, and you don't have any knowledge or concept of valve train geometry, it makes it really difficult for you to understand how to troubleshoot and fix the situation.

II called around to every dealership today within a 20 mile radius of my location. NOBODY has my cam gear. I'm pretty certain my cam should be just fine the way it is. I'm not boosted, I'm not going balls to the wall with the pedal. I'll just have to take it easy for awhile. I'm afraid if I try to jb weld it, the extra weight on one side will cause a vibration/wobble in the gear and damage it or worse.
Don't know why I didn't think of this when you first mentioned yours was cracked but I have a pair of stock cam gears collecting dust in my garage. I'll let you have one for the cost of shipping if you like. It should fit a USPS Priority Mail small flat rate box so it should only be about $5-$6.

I replaced them with Fidanza adjustable gears with only about 20k miles on the car so they are nearly new. I am still at work tonight so I can't get anything done right now but I should have time to ship one out in the morning. Whats your zip?

Here are couple of pictures of the one I sent to you

They look good to me. Can't wait to get em. Did you get my text?
Yup, got your text. I'm wasn't expecting anything more than the cost of shipping, just trying to help you out and generate some good Karma for myself, I may need it someday.

You keep speaking in plural terms, i hope you weren't expecting both gears, I only sent one to replace the cracked one.

On another note, I did get an electric 1/2" Dewalt impact. It cost $200. It's feels cheap, at work today, I used it on 3 vehicles. After the 2nd vehicle the battery died and the thing sounds like poop. I'm gonna use it to put everything back together then take it back for a new one.
I got Kawasaki corded electric one from Pep Boys a couple of years ago (when changing my cams). Only $79 and works like a champ, Came with a case and an assortment of impact sockets. Has 220 lb/ft of torque and the battery never dies. I think the torque spec on the crank pulley is 180 lb/ft so it is more than up to the task.

Aside from the clacking noise, it actually doesn't sound that bad. a misfiring engine will shake. I don't think a bent valve will cause a misfire but I could be wrong, misfiring is usually cased by an ignition problem. Double check you're spark plug wires to make sure you didn't get any of them mixed up. Also check you number 2 spark plug, since you took them out, you may have damaged one in the process. If your not careful when installing them, you can crack the porcelain insulator. Rule out the simple stuff before you scrap the engine. Good luck and keep us posted.

Dude....I would have gotten a junkyard engine before I let the stealership rake me over the coals.

Sorry to here the bad news.
