Hello.

I have finally managed to scrape enough money to get my first stereo system and some other goodies (pic in showroom and no, im not putting that xplod to my car, I have a pioneer TS-SW1241D now). Now I have some questions regarding wiring and sound deadening:

1. Inside the doors there is the plastic cover that keeps humidity outside. What should I do with it when I install the sound deadening material? Just rip it off and install the deadening material in its place or something else?

2. Battery terminals. What kind of terminals do you have pics would be appreciated, as I can't find a single one that would seem to fit with the stock wiring or under it. What kind of solutions do you have?

3. The location of the hole in the firewall, where is it and how easy it is to pull wiring through it to get into the trunk?

4. Something about the location of the amplifiers. As i have 2 amps, a finnish spl dynamics amp for the subwoofer and MTX audio X702 for the front. Is there room somewhere inside the front console for the front amplifier or should I also install it into the back?

Im also planning to take lots of pictures from the project so that I could possibly write a comprehensive DIY about the whole project.

PS. sorry for my english :)

I am doing the dynamatt all over my car to deaden the sound too. As far as i know you gently remove that barrier off the door and use it as a template for the matting material you do not put it back on. For the wireing i would use a good 4 gage wire and use a new ring terminal to go directly from the battery, drill a new hole in the firewall, and use a rubber grommet to insulate the hole, then run the wire all the way into the trunk. DO NOT forget to put in a fuse block in the engine bay and another one in the trunk where the amps go.
Other than that, things are pretty simple. Other than tearing out the whole interior in order to hide the wires under the carpet. An remember to run power and speaker and signal wires on opposite sides of the car.

When i installed mine, i used one of the 4 gauge wire kits that you can buy from walmart... (comes w/ just about everything you need) you run it from the battery, to the fuse, then through the firewall, Gromet of course, and then run the pwr along the drivers side under the molding, then route it under the carpet, and pull your back seat bottoms out.
There might be a leaver holding the clip, but you should be able to just pull them up and they will come out as one piece.
run the cables underneath your seats, and then to the trunk.

as for the speaker wires, run along the passenger side, and follow the same route.
Dont forget the remote wire for the amp, and yea... install your amps, speakers, and caps if you got um... then go from there... :3_winkthu

Yes i have all the wiring and fuses already. But I have heard that there already is a sizeable hole somewhere near the drivers side wheel lining and was interested in the specific location.

Also, I have been thinking about the placement of the amplifiers, is there enough room behind the rear quarter panels to mount them there?

And my quesion about the battery terminal should have been more specific:Will a ring terminal fit under the hyundai bell shaped battery connector and if so, could you point me to a model that fits?
