Okay lets see if I can make this short, My mods on the 5sp gt, I/E, Spec stg1 cltuch and Fidanza LW FW, His mods Injen Sri, Sts, Reflashed ECU?? He said he reflashed for the Vtec to kick in sooner..... aint to sure on vtec's but thats what he said, well we went to a deserted road NO TRAFIC, Went from a dig and he got the jump i had to play catch up and beat him by about 2 cars by the time we shut down, went from a 30 roll and I pulled instanly and won by about the same, but it really suprised me how quick those cars really are for a 2.0 4cyl, all in all a good race.

^ Amen to that, my friends going to get one but, I don't think he knows that i'll be S/C'd by then. (we'll keep it a secret).

ummm ... i have videos of a reflashed IE rsx-s beating a evo8rs, im sorry but with those mods you listed theres no way you beat him unless he was a absolutly horrible driver and never left first. hes looking at probably 200+ whp and less weight than you

Vtec is done with cams, yeah? (or was that only true in the past?).

Therefore, a reflash can't change when it kicks in, it has something to do with... centripetal force or something.

The DC5 (RSX) has iVTEC, not just VTEC.

It features continuously variable intake camshaft timing adjustment and 3 intake and 3 exhaust camshaft lobes per cylinder.

All aspects are controlled by the ECM/ PCM, especially the engagement of the iVTEC lobes of each camshaft. Nothing is controlled via centripetal force.

You don't know much about cars, and he didn't know how to drive or was having an off night. With your mods and his mods you should have been closer than you were.

Maybe the Acura was babying it? You have to WAIL on those cars to get the most out of em. Any S2K drivers in the house?;)

But echoing the rest, I find the race results odd. But in fairness as well...nice kill my man!

drove my friends car its like driving a turbo'd car without the turbo.

i was pulling out and floored it and got up to about 6k rpms and shifted it felt like our cars flooring a manual up a slight incline ast 2100 rpms.

it was weak. then i figured i would take it and open it up got the the highway and pulled over. got out and i was impressed the exhaust sounded like a big ol can but i liked sifting so higih :)

i wanna reflash my ecu to 7500k but i am wondering what supporting mods i would need

could have been an older 3.2tl type s...
theres no way with intake and exhaust you beat an rsx type s with any mods unless he missed every gear.

Either a fake Type S badge or bad driver.

He's got what's called "Hondata" ECU reflash. VTEC goes into effect at a lower RPM ( I think 4800rpm) , yes.

On my 08' SI My VTEC kicks on at 5800rpm and my redline is 8200rpm. I'm sure his gas mileage sucks on a daily basis, lol.

the type s in this video has simalar mods to the one you said you raced if those are his actual mods, and i am at 275whp in this video and from a roll he beats the evo 8 rs and hangs with me until about 100mph, where i leave him in the dust, but i leave any ie tib in the dust from any mph, theres no way he had those mods and you beat him

man theres no way u beat an RSX type S

Wow, I test drove one of those stock before I got the Tib, and it didn't feel that fast. Wouldn't guess that a reflash and a I/E would help it that much. Good to know if I ever see one on the streets.

well their reflash does alot more than one of ours, not only can it advance the timing, but it can change to get into vtech earlier, so its like adding cams and advancing the timing and raising the rev limiter all in 1 mod, reflashed or kpro'd rsx-s's are mean

O and yea it was the rsx type s, but regardless of what you all think I did win so.... I dont know what to tell you, we traded cars for the weekend and the Rsx is quick dont get me wrong but nah.... I wouldnt have 1 but thanks for the feedback, ill see if I can get a video up or something to satisfy some of yall. ;)

WELL anything can happen on the streets. Don't get upset because the RSX Type S is usually the stronger car, especially when power mods get thrown in the mix. I hate to admit it but its true.
