With some help from NJSled, we’re working on putting a meet together in the Providence area on the weekend of the 29th (January 2005). The Northeast International Auto Show is at the Providence Convention Center on those dates too, so that’s an opportunity.

We both wanted to see a great turnout so we’ve posted info at Hyundai Performance, Elantra GT Club, Elantra XD, RD Tiburon, and Sonata Speed too. I’ll be running around this week ironing out the hard details and hopefully everything will pretty much be finalized within a week or two. There’s already a handful who’ve expressed interest in going to the meet so the turnout is already looking pretty good.

So if you’re interested, leave a reply. If you’re definitely sure about coming then it’ll make my life easier if you drop me a PM too. If you guys have any suggestions or ideas for the meet, I’d love to hear ‘em.

Well, I guess that’s all for now. :D

I'm gonna put a mailing list together for the meet. PM me your email address if you're intrested in coming, I'll add you to the list.

DJNOGO: I was thinking of somehting like that. I'm looking at some places in Johnston and Warwick.

i'd say johnston because we have people coming from both north and south on I-95 and it doesn't make sense to have them drive past providence and then back. think we should meet in the parking lot of what used to be stuart's (sp?)? it'd be easy to get there, take exit 6 off of I-295 onto route 6A east, go half a mile, and it's the parking lot right after the amazing store.

Maybe. If a bunch of RD Tibs show up. Maybe.

Saturday.
This is the tentative plan so far.

We all meet at the Providence Convention Center's parking garge (say top floor) around noon-1ish and check out the Car Show for a few hours

From there we'll drive down to Boston Billiards for some pool and food.

Damn you all. Finally a meet in Rhode Island and I still can't frieken go. This is like year 3 of not attending meets. I would suggest the top level of the providence place parking garage. It's quite nice of a view from up there. And then after the show you all can go to dave and busters in the mall (just makes more sense to me) but if you all want to roll somewhere as a group, driving to boston billiards is cool too.

Have fun.

YEAH I think dave and busters is probably a better idea and we wont have to move the cars from their parking spots.
besides trying to navigate a bunch of cars through downtown providence, especially when most of them aren't familiar w/ the area, probably wont werk too well, and we'll just end up w/ lost & frustrated drivers....

and besides i got gift cards for D&B for xmas (lol) i know i'm a cheap bastard... :3_toilet-

parking is $1 if we get the ticket validated, right? or is it a bit more since we're gonna be spending a long time there?

EDIT:
found info on parking:
http://www.providenceplace.com/Info/Parking/Parking+Rates.htm

and here:
http://www.providenceplace.com/Info/Parking/
it says:
"Please take your parking ticket with you and present it for validation at any mall shop when making a purchase of $10 or more."
but i've had mine validated when buy a $5 CD or milkshake.....so parking shouldn't be too bad.
