Good question. I have black rims w/ chrome lip and absolutely love them. You would enjoy a nice exhaust more IMO. My vote= Exhaust

you want performance or you want looks? if u want your car to sound tight get exhaust, if u want ur car to have the looks, get the rims. Dont get blk with silver lip tho, ugly!!

I'm not so sure I'd be taking advice from someone who is suggesting you buy an exhaust simply for the fact that your car will 'sound better'.

My vote is for both. And some coilovers.

 

I say exhaust because you'll get a bigger smile on your face when you hear what you car sounds like opened up.......

Why must people insist on using the word rims? Escalades drive on rims, sports cars drive on WHEELS. Yeesh.

 

if you get an exhaust you should go for a CAI too so everything will really be opened up, but if you get some lighter weight racing wheels then that could also be benificiary to you.

Go with exhaust, you will be happy with the results. Open that baby up and get a better flow. My first mod was an exhaust and I love it!! Rims can always come later.. if you want black just paint your stockers black. it takes some time and effort of work but it's all worth it.

I say get the wheels, f the haters. Save the money till you can do headers/exhaust all together to save yourself some $$ for the install.

Keeping on topic - If you do go with wheels you really should look into (at the very least) lowering springs. Those two go hand in hand. If you go with an exhaust system PLEASE find something with tips that will suit your '07 style bumper. Nothing worse than seeing angled bumper cutouts with round exhaust tips slapped in there... (cough Chris cough)

That is one thing I'm a lil weary about is what tips to get. Even just the circular tips look a little off, so I'm not sure what route Imma take

stebbs! get the exhaust man! what model tib do you have? if you have the gt or se, you can paint the wheels black like everyone else said. i have the gs, and the gs' wheels don't really look like they would work painting them and leaving the lip chrome. the spokes of the wheel extend out to the tip of the wheel, so it wouldn't look good if i did it.

I seriously doubt I'll even consider painting the stock wheels. I don't wanna chance them looking like poopie!!!!

lol..dont forget about tires man, that'll cost you a extra 3 or 4 hundred. Like i suggested get exhaust and intake, and ill sale you stock lexus IS 300 rims w/ tires for cheap , Paint them bad boys blk, it'll look sick

19x9 (rear) and 19x8.5 (front) HRE 648R's with BFG g-Force KDW tires.

 

Black looks good on nice wheels only. Too bad everyone has some random cheap mesh style black with a polished lip on here. Buy nice wheels like those HRE's or volks and any color will look nice.

 

i allways put new wheels on a car before i go to any exhaust set ups...with exhaust u will get the attention but when you get the looks ur gonna get noticed with stock wheels and nothin looks worst than stock wheels on a car

so get a set of nice rims then go for an exhaust you will get more compliments that way and end up better off
