Yea the car looks good but god damn!. my engine blew again!!!!! i do all proper maintenence and drive it normal. Its just ihe and i have already replaced 2 engines because it began ticking then eventually popped. This last engine was in for 15,000km and the one before was 12,000 before it blew. WTF!@!!@!@!!!

Ive never been soo angry in my life ever. Today on the way home from work it started the ticking again and i can definately hear a bottom end noise.

WHY??????

Now I have to dish out another 600 bucks and waste a full saturday putting the new one in!

ROAR

I wont ever buy another either. My gripe is that they refuse to honor the warranty.

original had 130,000km then it blew. then new one went in with 112,000km on it - that one lasted 12,000. then the next one went in with 30,000km and blew at 45,000km!! well the one at 45,000km will blow anytime because its the same issues as the last motor.

I used mobil 1 synthetic and the dealer filter everry5000k

Seems like operator error somehow. Im not trying to be a dick but thats too big of a coincedince. My brother blew 3 motors in his mustang, because he drove like an ***. There has to be a reason.

I am not the easiest on mine and it has over 111,000 miles on it. My engine is still running like a champ. :3_winkthu

Must be driver. My tib is at 118k miles and still running fine. No oil burning or nothing. I change oil every 5k and timing belt at 85k. I am only about 30k from changing timing belt. It must be oil or driver.

humm... maybe the used moters never had the timebelt changed, but you said it was bottom end issues?

what a terrible string of bad luck. are you switching everything over? perhaps there is something wrong with the ECU or a sensor causing it to run lean or have tremendously advanced timing.

You would not believe the amount of engines that are traded around that all have less than XXXXXX miles on them... i would bet that every engine out there with 90K miles on it is being sold with the seller saying it only has 16K - Believe half of what you hear, and none of what you see...

There is no way that a Hyundai motor that is not being abused, is popping with so little miles on it...

I've got 147K on my 03, no engine issues

Either got lied to about the motor or there was something wrong when you bought it. Way too many engines. I see Hyundai engines with 250k+ miles on them, all the TIME! engines that are 10 years old even...

You know the fuel injectors tick pretty loud right? Also if you have an aftermarket clutch that's going to tick as well.

i'm on my fourth Hyundai, 93 Elantra, 97 Elantra, both burned oil but i managed to get 140,000 miles on them. my 04 Elantra has 120,000 miles on it with mo issues what so every, (knock on wood). My 08 Tin only has 20,000 on it. I agree with the others. You must have gotten a hold of bad engines.

I agree, Ive blown up 3 engines and only have 55,??? miles on my Tib!!!

you best bet is a local j/y with the engine still in the car. usually if its been took out they will lie.
