I just bought replacement struts for my tib, and before i go and install them, I was wondering if I should just go ahead and get some spring too. The struts I got are the Monroe Sensa-Trac line. They got good reviews, and are apparently a big upgrade over stock. My main concern before I delve into this, is whether these babies are gonna blow out crazy fast if I drop it as well. Any help would be great! Thanks ahead guys!

Usually aftermarket struts can handle a drop pretty well. I would think you wouldnt have an issue

Quite a few people run aftermarket strut +lowering spring combos and have pretty good success. I cant speak for your brand specifically (most people seem to go with kyb's) but maybe that might help your final decision

Thanks for the input man. Yea, I had a feeling that it should be fine. What I do know is that Monroe makes some pretty nice struts though, and they do weigh stightly less that the OEM ones. Any recomendations on springs from personal experience?

I had TEIN springs on stock struts for 35k miles, struts never blew and it was lowered about 2 inches

(have coilovers now, best decision ever)

I bought KYB struts and the Megan springs were about $150. It is a perfect drop (~1.5") in my opinion.

I would repkly individually to all of you but that would be a bit much lol.
Thanks for all the advice guy! It's much appreciated!
I'm gonna go with the H&R springs. They seem to have the stiffest spring and the way I figure, This will be a good thing for use on an OEM replacement strut.

for those that care, here's a list of crap I have done to my 04 tib...
AEM CAI converted to SRI
Apexi N1 dual cat-back
Short shift w/ white Carbing knob & rubber boot
Konig Again5 17x8's w/ Continental Extreme Contact DWS
2500k Yellow Lows/Highs & Fogs
Blacked out Tails
Monroe's wrapped in H&R's (coming soon)

pretty modest, but she looks sexy.
when i do the lowering I'll post pics.

Thanks again guys!!!
