Alright I know we have been over this before, but I'm tired of seeing these idea's never go through... So here is what I'm presenting, we have one giant SE Club...

(Ok, I got this idea after talking with one of the members of the 350z FL Club this weekend, learned how they do the membership, etc... course this guy did state that the 350z was a very cheap car *rich sob*, but I still want to see more people become invovled with Tiburons/Hyundai's)

The biggest participants of all the SE meets have been the people from GA (Atlanta), N. FL (Gainesville) and Central FL (Tampa, Orlando)... We just meet whenever... Maybe its time we get a little organized ?

Naming of the club doesn't mean crap right now, the name of the club is literally the last thing we need to worry about, it's getting organized and seeing this come together before we name the club that we need to worry about

Meets:
State Meets atleast twice a year, regionial meets every other month, South East (whole club) once a year...

Dates of the meets will be voted on by the members.

NOW This is what's gonna happen/how we are going to start this club idea...
First, post here if your interested, second I will ask everyone to email me with their address...

Now your thinking "why does he need this ?" Because we are going to make this a REAL club, no internet bs... Paperwork, Membership Cards, and cards to distribute to people to get them interested...

I know for a fact I can get membership cards laminated cheap, so I will make some get them lamenated with your "handle" / real name / car / club logo / your location / your email on the club's website (yes we will have a website, I already have the domain name).

The cards I will be making (from a print shop, professionially done, these are cards to pass out to people) will have the club logo on it, club website, and club email.

Sound Good ?

Make a list and add your name to it... I want to see us get more organized and have a bit more fun doing this...

After we get around 10/15 people going (cause I know thats a LOW AMOUNT of people considering how many we have in these areas...) I will start setting up the regions, etc...

Been thinking of doing this for a while. I like the idea but not sure how much participation the will be. Questions that need to be asked are why one should become a member? What are the advantages? Let me know what I can do to help.

If you really need to ask why should I join, your really not looking at the big picture...

If your going to have regular meets with people that own the same car or same engine, etc... you can talk together about plans for your car, get feedback, as well as help in doing installs, etc...

Example: One person is thinking of going turbo, at the meet we could have everyone help doing turbo where as one guy might know how to install pistons heads vs. the rest do not, it's mainly a learning experience and a chance to physically interact with people that share the same interests as yourself...

(stop hiding behind the computer people...)

And as the club gets older we'll come up with more ideas, etc to make the club more interesting as it goes along, but those decisions will be made at the meets :)

A good nation wide and state club you might want to look at is NECO (new edge cougar owners) And FLNECO.com The have a huge national meet once a year. And florida has a big state once a year.. And allthe other states have state wide meets.
To be honest man, I really don't care what cougar owners are doing, I think you meant that as a example, which is cool, but I only care about what us Hyundai owners are doing (or not doing in this case) hence why I'm proposing we do this to get things going.

Ah, but I do get the big picture. Please don't think that I am giving you a hard time, I do like the idea of this. My point is the fact that there are already meets organized within the S.E. region where people do the things you have mentioned already. I would think that since there is to be an organization that there should be perks. As a large group I am sure that dealers could be persuaded to offer disounts to card holders. Locations for group meets could be obtained at a reasonable rate rather than holding them in a parking lot or someone's driveway. Not that the current way of doing things is bad (I do enjoy it actually) however, as a group of organized and like minded people the bar should be raised a bit don't you think? I am just interested in seeing something take what has already been done just a bit further.

Despite the opinions I have offered I would appreciate it if you added me to the list of interested people. As you can tell by my post count, I don't spend much time behind the PC so I would probably be at every meet.

Thanks

Before you can walk, you must crawl...

Meaning what ? Meaning after speaking with dealerships trying to sponsor / help hold for the next Tampa BBQ, none of the dealerships would even CONSIDER doing anything for a car club around 10 people... And one dick dealership manager told me "I don't care if you spent 50k on your tiburon and it's the fastest tib in the world, without more people to back you and your club, there is nothing we can do to help" -- Stating it simple, we're going to need to grow before we get into anything other than our simple meets, etc...

And this is how we are going to start to grow, by first getting organized.

this sounds like a good Idea. Is it only for Atlanta GA and Gainsville? Or could a person from ohh...say Pompano Beach FL be in it?? :)
I would imagine that if you're prepared to participate to the levels Henry's imagining (meets-wise), sure! You know Paulina and Jen and I always like to see more girls. (Well, apparently, that is because Paulina and Jen are lesbian lovers, but I just like girls as friends. ;) J/K, little sisters.)

Working on regions for FL and GA right now...

Will have a website up tomorrow/tuesday... ~ Anyone that has HTML esperience wanna have fun with a website ? I currently run 10 websites adding another to the list is well... annoying ;) Plus having a second brain to think of stuff to put on the site is always nice.

Basically from the site I'll have PDF's for you to download and send to a PO BOX so we can get everyone's information together. Once that is done I'll start getting out the membership cards / club cards / etc... :)
