Still no word yet on a 2007 f/l conversion?

I'm surprised, really. I'd rather drop the cash on this then buy a new body kit. The hood can be taken care of by purchasing a 07 aftermarket hood instead. God..the ath and hana bumper are driving me insane. I guess what really does it for me are the new headlights and fender lines/garnishing.

its been somewhat discussed, but the general consensus is that it would cost to much since the new headlights involve modifying the engine bay framework, which is usually more work than most want to put in themselves, or pay for someone else to do.

The rear end is a different story, i'm just waiting to find a silver 07 rear on ebay for a different price, then bolting it on and getting new lights.

i brought it up a while back, and some one posted a photochopped pic of this red 05/06, with only the headlights photochopped in there. IT WAS SICK LOOKING>>>>> just my 2c, to your question. I looked around but couldnt find it. If anyone knows what im talking about please post it, i lost that pic and want to see it again, AS i spoog........................:3_offtopi

I think some people feel they would rather have an updated look as opposed to the plethora of hideous body kits out there right now. I personally love the lines of my car with only slightly thinking about swapping the newest rear fender and tail lights if they are a direct bolt on. If not, then forget about it and move on imo..

yeah' the rear end was really simple

The front end is more than just a hood, you'll need:
fenders
hood
bumper
wheel wells
center panel
engine covers
headlights
front top subframe
front bottom subframe

All in all I'd probably tally the cost at between 4 and 5k without paint.

It would probably be more cost effective to just to buy an 07 than convert an 03-06, quite honestly, considering all the parts, fab, paint and install costs.

Damn you for even making me ponder the thoughts. I took my car to the dealership the other day and just envied the 07s. Just a fresh look, know what I mean? Sorry for bringing this up from the dead but i'm sure someone must be interested.

Wasn't there a guy that custom fitted the headlights on his Min GT? BTW egoff, does the rear bumper fit perfectly?

I dunno if it fits perfectly, but it's definitely not a difficult project from what I've gathered. Considering tons of Korean tibs have 05+ fronts with 07 rears I'd say it can't be too hard.

The rear bumper is a direct swap with the M&S taillight spacers.

The front requires a bit of modification, but can certainly be done with little difficulty.
Not much to discuss here...someone's either gonna pony up and do it...or not.

End discussion.

Wow i cant believe you posted this mike, youve got it completely backwards! FL2 Taillights are a direct fit, at least for the fl1 the 03-04 need hammer time, with the M&S taillight spacers. That being said the taillight spacers look terrible and the new taillight design is too rounded to fit the edgy bumper the pre fl2s had. The rear bumper is a direct swap if and only if you buy the taillights as the fl2s are smaller than the pre fl2s. I would assume you could cut the rear bumper in order to make the pre fl2 tails work if you so desired.

Just trying to keep people from reading missinformation :3_winkthu

I've been contemplating doing the F/L2 rear conversion on my F/L1 and wouldn't the F/L2 bumper cut out the need for the M&S Spacer? I'm not savy with this stuff but I would think that the 07 bumper would sit flush with the 07 taillights since it does on the 07-08s. Please correct me if I'm wrong
