i read some posts about tiburon from korean forum(actually some website with lotta cars)
anyways.. so many people are putting da TIB down so bad
so i posted a thread with honesty.

*stock tib gt is faster than 325i
s/c tib is faster than 350z (well.. stg 2)
s/c tib is faster than stock evo (stg2)
da tib im talkin about is well fixed up and still not even close to $30,000

man... so shame.. piss me oFF!!

Though those may be true, and I agree with you that it's ashame so many people put down the Tib because it's a Hyundai or whatever reason. But there's different strokes for different folks.

The only negative thing I can say about this really is thats though a stg 2 tib may beat a stock evo, the few mods you would have to do to the evo to get it to run the same and still be able to beat on it time after time and not have to worry about how long the motor will last under that pressure is the assurance some people like. But on the other hand there are also the kind of people who drop the money on an evo just to say they have an evo. Know what I mean?

It is a shame but when they are looking at your tail lights you have even more reason to smile.

People need to stop comparing it to Evos and STIs and start comparing it to other cars in its class.....Celica, tC, Eclipse, ect, because out of all the cars in the sport compact class, possibly excluding the RSX-S, a Tib GT can beat with a decent driver.

Currently our car does pretty well against other on the road. Lately though it seems like s/c or turbo cars are making a come back and also huge muscle retro engines are soon to return also (hince the mustang, camaro, charger.) So maybe in the future, hyundai should begin to reconsider their current hp on the tib. However as long as I can take on the celica, eclipse and rsx (not type-s) then Im happy.

Exclude the SRT-4 from this also. Because it is still in the same class as the tib.

Guys & Gals,

Whatever the setup... our rides (03/04) have that LOOK. I have the Tuscani badges and the roundels. Adults think it is an Italian sports car. Youngin's know what it is, but WGAF?

I am not impressed by people who need to advertise how much they paid for a sound system, or who has the biggest spoiler. Subtlety is the best. I have had POS, I mean POS, next to me and I just casually cruise.

Don't get all worked up about opinions. They're like A ssholes. Everybody has one.

Just keep doing what you do to your ride.

i like how a lot of people who drive sports compact cars are focused on straightline racing whereas its strengths is most likely in handling. just think about it this way, the only real competition for the tib within its price range for bang for buck is the tC, which the tib can go faster and handle better? than it

Are we talking about a drag race here? Cuz anything with curves wouldn't have that outcome. The last time I checked, Nissan went nuts because they finally produced something (G35) that took the 3 Series in the cones by tenths of a second. So, are you claiming that the Tib can match up with the G35?

And, by the way... just so you have your numbers straight:

Stock BMW 325i (5 speed manual)
0-60 = 7.1 secs

Stock Hyundai Tiburon GT (5 & 6 speed manual)
0-60 = 7.1 secs

Hmmm... those numbers sure look the same to me.

Ya know whats really sad? A single turbo set up@ 7psi on the v6 tib will beat a stage 2.5 and maybe a stage 3 s/c tiburon. That isn't the sad part. The sad part is, you would spend more money on the s/c than on the turbo, and the turbo v6 will smoke the s/c tiburon. Anywho, you can't go comparing a tiburon that becomes turboed with a stock evo, thats not fair. The evo has to have @least intake and exhaust to compare the two cars.
