... or put one in if your car didn't come with it stock.

Well, since the US cars don't come with them stock I had to put mine in originally. The first thing I noticed back then was that I wasn't getting crap blown into my face every once in a while. That was about 3 or 4 years ago and I kept putting off changing the cabin filter. Finally changed it a few weeks ago and that's what I ended up pulling out. Just before that I had noticed that the air coming through the vents wasn't as strong as it was before. Now, the vent air is noticeable, even at setting 1 of the fan.hahahah what the..
did that affect your car at all
Yeah, all that crap would have gotten blown into the cabin.hmm, thats making me think about getting one for my car.
When you drive with your windows open, air pressure actually keeps some of that stuff from getting inside the car. If your car just sits, with all the windows and sunroof open, yes, stuff will get inside. Now, if anything just sits across the sash at the bottom of the windshield, whether or not your windows are opened or closed, it will go inside. Also, for the vents, when you turn them on, they draw outside air through and if you have any of the windows open, you'll notice that more air comes through the vents.ok, question, the cabin air filter filters air that it is sucking in from outside right? So then not having one would really be no different than driving with your windows open right?
I mean most of my driving the windows are open.
Behind the glove box. Six screws hold the glove box in and two tabs on either side, plus the wiring harness for the light. Some people say to yank on the box to get the tabs to release but I don't do things like that. A flat head screwdriver can be used to press down on the tabs and the glove box just drops. But to get at those tabs you have to go through the center consol and the side panel, both easy enough to do. I'd rather do that than take the chance of breaking the tabs. I hate breaking things on my car even if it means just taking a little bit longer to do something. So thats how my dash is always covered with dust after I armor all it... Wheres that door at?
Yes. When you remove the cabin filter door, you'll see the blower below where the filter would go. The filter has an arrow on it to show airflow direction. When I removed my filter there was actually stuff piled on top of it so as I slid it out it all fell into the blower. I had to go hunting for leaves and such.^ yup pretty much. does the filter go in before the fan? I had some leafs get sucked into mine and make a sound every time i turned the fan on... so i had to remove the fan and take the leaves out. perhaps i will get one just to prevent that![]()
Not really. Once you do it, you'll realize how easy it is to do. Less than 15 mins to change.wow getting tot he filter sounds confusing..
I had a feeling it would look a bit like that. What I wasn't expecting, and what you can't really see in the pic, is the amount of crap within the folds of the filter. Probably why the airlfow was pretty weak from the vents.mustve felt really nice to get all that **** out
