first ... never ... ever ... swerve to miss a deer, more people die from trying to avoid a deer than actually hitting it, and if you hit it, then its a comp claim not a loss of control at fault claim on your insurance and thats a HUGE price difference. loss of control is generally rated as bad as 2 rear end hits, and a comp claim means basically nothing.
second ... glad your ok lol
third ... based off the year i doubt its totaled unless theres more structural damage or suspension damage i cant see (suspension is more likely to cause it to go over in this case because the rear wheels caster and toe is all messed up, which could mean several things). looks like you need a new door, quarter panel, few small dents where the quarter meets the roof which if its past the quarter line can just be repaired pretty easy, the rockers look ok from the pics, and the c piller looks fixable too. looks like a scraping type hit rather than a direct hit which will make it look like more damage than it is. only part that would make me thing they would total it is the suspension, but it could be several things that would cause that wheel to be pushed back some cheap and some expensive.
they wont give you an option to fix or total it, if they total it they buy it off you for the value of it before the accident, which should be what you paid for it basically. then if you want to keep it and fix it yourself you can buy it back, but they generally wont give you the car and give you a check for the car, if they pay you out on a total its because they are buying the car from you, its how insurance works (some companies will allow you to keep some cars depending on the value usually).
and wtf is up with no stereo?
