I asked this in the newbie section with no response so I thought I'd try here. This is probably a no brainer to yall with front drive experience, but I've been a big block rwd guy all my life. So here goes...

Question #1...is it harmful to the transaxle to run the car in gear with the wheels off the ground?
The reason I ask is that the Tib is very noisy when in motion and I suspect the tires or trans. It's an 06 TibGT with auto trans.

#2...are there any auto trans mods out there besides the reflash?
Every body says they are bullet proof which is good, but can they be improved. The automatics that I've always dealt with were set up for a hard shift. Soft shifts meant more heat and more wear on the packs. I wouldn't mind a full manual valve body.

thanks

#1: it is not harmful to run the car in gear when its lifted, though its is not recomended for safety reasons.

#2 . . . . I don't know :2_mrgreen

You can have a valve body job done so you can safely increase the line pressure, but it is kind of expensive, there are a few members that have done it, cant remember who, maby bakerking will chime in, he knows.

I my experience it isn't hard to modify. On my lincoln all you needed to do was drill the seperator plate to make it shift quicker. A lot of shift kits are similar. Here is the write up on the transmission I did it on.
