I own a 2005 v6 6sp manual and believe in ready for a tune I have a cold air intake resonator delete and hks mufflers iridium performance spark plugs.

I would like to do it myself if possible but have no idea where to start or do you think it’s better off just dropping it off at a shop.

also are there any other modifications i should consider before doing before I tune.

A true CAI, headers and exhaust will yield you the most gains. A resonator delete just makes the car louder. If you can get away with it in your jurisdiction try deleting the cats to give you far more gains over the resonator delete. Either way you're only looking at around 190WHP with bolt-ons and a reflash.

I don't believe you'll be able to "drop it off at a shop" because there isn't a lot of information out there for these ECUs. Most shops will try to sell you their standalone of choice then charge you a thousand dollars for a dyno tune on top of that. While that is the best of all scenarios it's not cost effective for a 20 year old car with minimal bolt-ons.

I would recommend porting the upper and lower intake manifolds out to 40mm diameter. The name of the game with these cars is to flow as much air as easily as possible, then tweak the ignition and fuel map to correct the ultra rich and weak factory tune.
