Mine is a Black GT V6 5 speed but it is totally stock so I guess you would know exactly what it looks like! I would be interested in doing some appearance mods but am afraid I will screw it up and it will look worse. I am not very adventurous or skilled when it comes to handiwork. I am now considering a new exhaust and am deciding between the Borla, Greddy and Injen and Mussa. I probably would have done an exhaust already but can't decide which one to get. I also am interested in an intake with a bypass valve. I really don't want to void my warranty though so have shied away from mods. generally but would like a bit more power. I think if I got an exhaust and intake and add 20 hp or so I would be very happy with that. There is another cool guy from Richmond here named Koreandude. He is a nice guy and seems to know alot about cars.
I don't have a bypass and I haven't had any trouble, but its probably a good idea to get one. I would recommend you get a short ram intake, because you won't have any trouble with your CEL(check engine light) in cold weather. I have only done intake and ground wires on my car, but I have a Greddy exhaust on the way. Let me know if you want to see it and I'll meet up with you and show you once I have it in. I should have it installed in about a week or two if it gets here in time. As for appearance mods I have done an almost complete Tuscani conversion and I have done all the work myself. As far as I know appearance mods don't usually mess with the warranty. Like I said if you want to see my car and what I have done with it then let me know and we'll get together sometime.
Very cool I would love to see it that as I have never seen a tib with an intake and would really like to see and hear one one in person. I would like to meet and check out your mods to give me some ideas. I live in Chesterfield near Brandermill but could meet anywhere you want although with this weather my car has not come out of the garage for quite a while! But if we wanted to do stuff to our cars I got a two car garage to work in.
I actually live out near New Kent, which I know is not Richmond, but most people haven't heard of New Kent. Yeah this weather sucks and I am being very careful about when and where I drive. I have a lot going on for about the next two weeks, because I am in the National Guard and we have drill coming up and whatnot. Sometime though we can meet up and I'll show you what I have. Hopefully, by then I will have at least Greddy exhaust and a B&M short shifter added to my list of mods. By the way, intakes sound sweet on our cars.
Aight guys, I live in Henrico County, which is just above Richmond.. I don't have a tib but plan to get one this year sometime..
As far as finding a car performance/ aftermarket place in or near Richmond.. there are no good ones.. and the ones you do find always seem to find a way to mess yer ride up and then offer no coverance pay.. I've been modding my Ford Probe out for 3 years now and the best advice I can give you is to buy your products from places on the web.. They are alot cheaper that way.. Most of all the stuff that you are talking about is bolt on stuff.. but.. I do have a friend that his parents own the Mineike on Nine Mile Rd. right there at Brandermill that will probably be able to put your exhaust on for ya.. they upgraded mine from a 2 inch diamiter to a 2.5 with no problems.. (all welded might I add) so I have a custom cat-back exhaust on my probe.. it ran me about $200 with labor.. but that was also because I had to buy the piping.. you on teh other hand (if they agree to put it on) already have your piping and they will prolly just charge you a labor fee.. I guess maybe somewhere around $50 or less..
Anyway.. my name is Paul Stevenson. I have a buddy of mine that lives out in Brandermill. He's black, his name is Charles, and he drives an older model Toyota Supra (maroone color) you may or may not know him.. anyway.. send me a PM if you have anyother questions..
Actually! I will be heading out to that Mineike this up coming Saturday ( 2/07/04 ). I have some Tokico Blue Struts that my friend is gonna be putting on my probe.. Soooo... if you feel like it.. you can meet me up thier and we can discuss things then about where some good places to buy stuff for your cars and such.. I'll post back on here what actuall physical time I will be there.. Just keep a look out for this probe..
Hey Paul I am Larkin and I live out near New Kent and I drive a white 2003 GT V6 6spd. We talked before. rferr I have to agree with Paul the lack of shops in Richmond. However like he said nothing you want to do recquires a shop unless you want custom exhaust. Like I said I have the Greddy Evo2 (got it yesterday) I am probably putting it on tonight. Its supposed to take about 30min. I have drill this Saturday, otherwise I would definitely be up for meeting up and comparing rides. I should be free like Sunday at 5ish. Let me know what you guys are up to.
I am going to Florida tomorrow and coming back Monday but after that my schedule is pretty open. Thanks for the info. I am the type of person who can do stuff myself but usually don't want to. I suppose I will do stuff if I have to! Sounds like I will. Nice looking Probe by the way.
I live in Chesterfield, right off of hull street, and go to VCU. rferr, we live pretty close to each other.
I got the borla exhaust, its pretty nice. if you want to see you, i can show it to you.
Hey guys, live in Newport News, part of the clusterf*** that is Hampton Roads, and Pyridan, not only have I heard of New Kent, I've actually visited your town (grew up in Mathews, played NK in HS basketball).
Anyway, got a '03 silver GTV6 auto with just the Tuscani mods (badging, wheel caps, door sills) and did the rite of passage deadly cupholder mod
Sounds good to me. Saturday is supposed to be nice weather and I will be around all weekend. Deelo83 what color is your tib? Black by any chance? I saw a black tib with a VCU sticker in the parking lot of my gym yesterday and wondered about it.
zeenon53 - I have been scoping that and might show up.
rferr - I can't do Saturday, because I have to work all day and then Valentines with the girlfriend. Tonight or Sunday night? Let me know and maybe we can work something out.
Any of you guys work at the Byrd Office Park by the airport? I have seen a silver GT V6 there with wheels and exhaust.
guys I am sorry, but I have to cancel out on Sunday. Too many commitments with work, family and g/f I definitely want to get together though, because hopefully then I'll have even more goodies to show off BTW I got the B&M 6spd STS in yesterday and installed it last night. It took about an hour.
Names Pick well thats what people call me anyways, but Jeremy.. got a '03 black tibby. with20% tint on the back and 35% on the front, the car is pretty much stock still.. except for the AEM CAI which is red, the aftermarket aluminum wing on the back and my red underbody neons. i have my exhaust on the way and well when i get a job i'll have the rest. but im up in Fredericksburg, VA 22401. tryin to get my own lil car club/team start'd with some of my boys i went to school with. just sumthin to do ya know. also in the VA army national guard in fredericksburg. SAPPERS LEAD 229th.
