Who wants a Carbon Fiber Roof Skin?

I posted this up for my Genesis Coupe customers since lots of them do black Vinyl roof overlays to compliment their CF Hoods and CF trunk combos. I've seen a lot of people with FlyRyde CF Hatches and CF Hoods on their Tiburons, so I figured you guys might be interested in this as well. I'm pretty sure it'd be the same for the 03-08 Tiburons right?

We can do this one of two ways. We can have a low cost (figure 450-500) part that attaches to the roof of the car, and we can also do a full replacement roof for people with full out cages that want to drop the weight of the metal roof.

Company: Devari Carbon. They used to be part of Asuka Design apparently and are now on their own.

Examples of their work with the Z for Carbon Roof. I spoke with them earlier and I was told we have the option of doing an OEM roof skin, which will attach under the weatherstripping on the roof (if the stripping can be pulled up and put back. Otherwise, the skin will need to be attached straight to the roof using another method. The main thing is that they'll build this so that it will have no chance of ripping off the car while you're driving 80+ mph on the freeway, lol.

This is the other roof skin they made, a double hump style that gives a pretty aggressive look to the Z.

I'm working with Devari Carbon on building some parts, so DEFINITELY, CF roof overlay, real CF not 3M stuff will come first. I've also had lots of customers ask me about CF Doors over the years, and if you can tell by some of the mold pics up top, these guys will make us CF doors as well.

Its just one of those things though, I can give you all the options in the world, but to even start it, I'd need almost 5 grand in cash (450 x 10 buyers) to get Devari to begin. I'd need someone to bring in their car to get the part at half price as well. In LA there's so many people that would bring their car in for a 225 dollar CF roof skin, so that's no problem at all. Its just that getting people to ready the cash, and have them all pay up at once would be very difficult unless you guys work together to make it happen. I just set the stage and let things happen. I've had very successful projects like this in the past, and I've had disasters as well due to inexperience on my part, and not leaving room for any hiccups. With all that I've been through and learned over the years, I can safely say that this will go great if you guys make it happen :) Thanks all!

I might be interested in this considering it slides over (a lot safer than having an actual c/f roof).

There will need to be a sunroof version as well that just has that section cut out. As long as there's enough people for each version we could make it with a built in Shark Fin for all I care, lol.
.........lol........ I would absolutely lmao...but it would be cool to see...
what about those fin things on the back of the evos?

Quoted for sweet, sweet truth. Definite interest in this as I think it's the only way a cf hood and hatch would look right.

That "fin thing" is called a vortex generator which I wouldn't be able to use since my rear window spoiler is there.

Flyryde, get this thing mocked up...we can have 10 buyers in no time.

IS THAT A MOD DOUBLE POST? LIKE O. M. G. WOAH!

Haha! You're crazy...I can't wait to meet up with you guys again ;) They say they are functional...just like a rear diffuser. I think I remember a guy getting one to fit on his Tib that was designed for a Supra. I would look for the thread but I'm not on a computer.
We're not crazy, we're just special :3_kwijl:

I thought you were supposed to see all and know all, Sensei? FIND IT! :ninjaman:

I know they are mainly used on aircraft, but then again those are completely different and generally angled not straight on. I mean if the actually do serve a true purpose for cars then they would be a great addition to the roof.
I agree with you, it would be a cool addition to the Tibby.....and also another hole burnt in the wallet :3_yes:
