First off, all Staw is trying to do is save you a headache and a lot of work. :3_frusty: If those were true quality parts, then over half of this board would run on them. My experience with them is below!
I have had experience with two different cars using these coil-overs. One was a 96 Eclipse GST Spyder, and the other was a 98 Sebring. The Eclipse did fine for about two months, rode around like a normal set of drop springs would. THEN shortly after that his troubles began, the squeaking started, the car kept lowering it self and we would have to jack it up at the shop and redo the nuts, they kept coming lose and the springs were also compressing. Then one day while driving around with them somewhat normal, his RR strut lower plate broke away from the strut tube body which dropped the entire RR down, sending him into on coming traffic and then a ditch! The end damage was a badly grooved tire, his strut was busted, broke front bumper, and he bent the lower section of the rear suspension. After getting it off and looking it over, the coil-over was moving around on the bottom section (wasn’t designed to fit the cup) and was causing the weight to shift heavy from one side to another. This was causing the lower plate to start flexing and eventually snapped off at the welds, sort of like our rear tabs do with the beefier sway bar. The Sebring fared a bit better; it just kept lowering in the rear and rode like complete crap. We ended up changing it out to air suspension for two years and then back to stock to sell it. There you have it, personal experience with them and not good at all like Staw is trying convey! I know you want to get coil-overs, get the car down and make it look good, but please think about it. Those expensive coil-overs are expensive for a very good reason my friend, quality parts and R&D. Sure pinkkitty is having good luck with hers right now, but I can almost guarantee you she will start to have hell if they are knock offs! She will either deal with it or replace them with something quality! These are not quality in any form or fashion. I deal with metals all day, and I can tell you for a fact that $40 can't even buy quality material to make them from, let alone pay for the labor to manufacture them. I buy in tons, not pounds, so I buy it at its bottom dollar! :3_puhbye:
So moral is to save up and buy something that is quality, not guaranteed! I can take a crap in a box and mark it guaranteed, but its still crap in a box! I know that the coil-overs are not guaranteed, but that doesn't mean if they were they would be any better! Save yourself a lot of trouble and heartache. :3_frusty:
