Ok, so my friendly neighborhood Hyundar Store has a nice Yellow Special Edition Tib, and I can get it 3k back of Invoice (rebates rock). Question is, do you guys think the yellow is too feminine for a 19 year old guy? I mean, there is a good reason I'm not lookin at VW beetles.

I like the yellow, but I'm afraid it may be just too girly. And I like the Red alot too, so I always have the option ofordering a Red special edition.

I'm just torn, as you can tell, I like the color, I like how it sticks out, nobody has it around here, but I really don't want to change my mind and repaint the car the week after I bought it, lol.

I don't think anyone's called me girly or feminine like that since I got my car. And if they did, I haven't been listening.

But feel free to get a red car or a blue car or a black car, cause if there were a lot of people with yellow SEs here I'd feel a little lost in the crowd.

word of caution. Yellow cars actually draw REAL bugs. Couln't believe it until i saw it on numerous occasions. Yellow car are cruise and little knatsfleas? are all over it.

Hmm, I'm really considering the yellow, the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Besides it would match my Mothers Yellow Vette :).

(Though it's now cliche, I would love to have a pic of a yellow tib next to that car in front of our yellow house!)

I'm yellow, a ba dee, a ba dai, a ba dee, a ba dai. a ba dee a ba dai...

You have a lot of yellow...hehe, get a matching car.

hmm....good point, not really a selling point when I think about it.

So....what other colors do the SE's come in?

Can I get one in tidal wave blue or moonlit blue? Obviously there are red ones, so I'll have to look at one of those too.

Hmm, I like Claff's opinion on the color the best. I like it, and thats all that really matters I guess.

I guess I'm gonna go take a real good look at the one at the Hyundai Store, and trade in the old camaro if I like it as much as i do now.

lol, Thanks for presenting your opinions, keep em coming, perhaps gimme some good ideas for mods too.

Claff is pretty much dead on about the most common choices in color, although you can add Silver to that list. Our cars our eye catching to start with, but not if you have the same color as everyone else. And not just the same color Tib, but the same Silver, Red or Black as any other car on the road.

I wasn't really keen on the Yellow to start, since I originally had a Silver Tib. But after a month of driving a Yellow Tib, I started to notice just how much you stand out. And if you want to, that's a good thing. London isn't a huge place, (Around 350,000).. but when you have ONE of the only THREE Yellow Tibs in the city, well, you can't help but catch people's stares. Plus only 1 in every 100 car I see is yellow.. the odd yellow corvette, mustang or cavalier.. everything else is your common silver, red, black or white.

As for the age thing, I get compliments from all over the age spectrum, but perhaps because it's yellow a majority of said compliments are from older folk.. older as in 25+.. which is fine by me.. I'm 28. You're 19? Eh.. you can't go wrong with Red, Black or Silver. They're safe choices, and you'll still get noticed. Just not so much when you pull up beside another Tib with a "safe" color. =)

Granted, some car just don't look good in Yellow. I keep seeing a Yellow Audi around town, and it makes me cringe..

The only thing to think about with a relatively bright color is that you can't go Mach 2 all the time, cause the car does stand out and it's pretty easy to pick out of a crowd. If you find yourself having trouble keeping at or near the posted speed limits when you're driving, you might want to pick out something a little more "stealth".
