Okay let's try this

Looks a little tight, I'm sure an Internet search would yield a "length versus deflection" chart to help you out. Did you read the service manuals on this site?

I did check the service manual that is listed here. Unfortunately it seems that only the 2.7 is listed under engines. I couldn't locate anything on the 2.0

IIRC, there is a "EM" and a "EMA", one is the 2L and the other is the 2.7L.

Here's the pic from the manual. This is the spec that h8isgr8 mentioned above:

And interesting to note... The tensioner pictured in the manual is the simpler bearing only style. Nowhere (that I could find) in the manual does it discuss the spring loaded pointer style:

As for swapping the bearings between the two? Back when I was doing my timing belt, I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe I could swap the new bearing that came with the timing belt kit onto my old pointer style of tensioner? With that in mind, I pressed my old pointer style tensioner apart:

And I should have looked closely (before I spent the time taking my old one apart), but it looks to me like the bearing only style does not come apart like that. It looks to me like the whole whole center portion IS the inner race. There does not appear to be a separate inner race that would stay with the bearing after you press out the center portion. I didn't put it on my hydraulic press and try, but as weird as it is, it seems like the center portion does not simply press out:

Well I just loosened it this afternoon and retensioned it. It is looser now and my son says that the noise is gone. I have slight hearing loss and cannot hear certain frequencies well if at all. So at this point I just hope that it isn't too loose. If I had to guess I would say that the belt moves about twice as far as in the video with a little less effort.
