In this MT article about the Elantra N Fresh 2024 Hyundai Elantra N: Watch Out Integra Type S and Civic Type R! (motortrend.com) Fresh 2024 Hyundai Elantra N: Watch Out Integra Type S and Civic Type R! (motortrend.com)

In and of itself it doesn't have much on the refreshed EN, however, if you scroll down to the video section there's a discussion with some Hyundai brass on the Tiburon and Genesis Coupe and their life cycles etc. Pretty interesting.

Sorry I couldn't find a direct link to just that video.

Idk any time I hear anything about a Tiburon it's usually not good things xD

True. At least here they talk about how they even considered keeping the name because it had recognition and a fan base. And actually I remember being an owner at the time and participating in a few surveys about what we wanted to see in a new vehicle, and a few small things were tweaked on the Genny coupe as a result.

One thing I found funny is they didn't mention the Veloster, considering it's the official replacement. Interesting to see that the Genesis was in fact the "spiritual" replacement.

I suppose it's as if they took the practical and the performance components of the Tiburon and split them into two different cars and emphasized those components for each car respectively.

Anyway, I still prefer the GK over both to this day.

I am curious what things ended up being tweaked, do you recall?

I remember there being questions about FWD vs RWD (though I think they were already set on RWD anyway), I think they took some cues from people modifying or painting the rear diffuser area, can't remember what else. Mostly it was about anything you liked or didn't like about the Tib and what you'd like to see in a "future sporty car from Hyundai" or something like that.

I think there was something about shifter feel as well since everyone was replacing the cable and base bushings, but from what I remember about the Gen coupes I test drove it wasn't much better.
