i cant get the timeslip to come up viewable ( scanner wont let the numbers show right ) but bluegtv6 was at the track and saw the whole thing .

60' 2.171
330 6.169
1/8 9.438
1/8 mph 75.00
1000 12.262
1/4 14.646
mph 94.88

i did this with an ark single exhaust , poly mm, aem cai , stock suspension, wheels and tires , but i put some coil boosters in the back to stop squat and help traction ( best 20 bucks ever ) and i took my rear and pass seat out . i have an 06 se

now flame me please , i especially like when people say a i/e tib wont run my normal 14.9 . and now i just did a 14.6 with a few tricks .

heres both my runs of the night for comparison and proof . ( thx to mrsbluegtv6 for scanning these )

So wait...according to those numbers, what would you hit if you shaved some time off of your 60'? Nice.

Yeah great run man, I couldn't believe it at first. I thought you must have ran a 14.8 and part of the clock was burnt out.lol Makes my 14.3 not seem too impressive.:3_sadley: Even with my setup I couldn't pull that kind of 60', my best was a 2.182. My best run of the night was a 14.306 @ 97.59. I kept getting terrible wheel hop every run.

On a serious note, I think a NA V6 can break into the 13's with all the bolt ons and a great driver. We have a good track here and awesome weather conditions. I will give it a shot this summer if I can pick up some slicks.

i believe its possable too . you just gotta get that one freak run that has a great launch and thats that i think it just come down to the 60 foot . hell bluegtv6 didnt get better than a 2.18 60 foot and he has light wheels , lsd, suspension and clutch and lightweight flywheel ( as well as all the na mods ). i dont think im a better driver than him , i just think i figured out my setup and how to launch it . i bet with at least some DR's he could hit 13.9 . if not then definitely with some slicks .

i could give you tips . im by no means a wonderful driver , i am however pretty in tune with my car . i know what its doing and how its going to react if i do something . it takes alot of time with a certain setup to learn how to launch . and even then it seems that track conditions change slightly each time i run . other than that its a matter of foot action on the clutch and gas . i let the rpms sit at about 3200 rpm and then i let the clutch up about half as slow as if i was dumping it , as i do that im pushing the gas in at about the same speed . takes practice but it gets me about half a second of wheelspin and then it just grabs with very minimal bogging and goes like a bat out of hell ( for a lightly modded tib that is )

ps : also a little luck helps , apparently i have good luck on friday the 13th ... lol

I changed out my mounts with polyurethane and nearly eliminated wheel hop. My launches went from sorry *** to downright awsome with just one mod. BluGTV6 might want to consider billet aluminum mounts if he's having that much trouble, or it might just be time for a new set of tires.

That's my thought anyways.

With a 97 mph trap he should be running at least low 14's, but like you guys have been saying, it all comes down to that 60' time.

I am in the low 14's.:3_wink: But the car can definetly get into the 14.0 range without a doubt. The mounts did stop a lot of my wheel hop too, but I think the added power and both wheels now gripping made it worse. Now instead of one wheel hopping they both are! I think I'm at the power level now where I just need some traction bars and drag radials. Even stiffer mounts aren't out of the question either, I've already broken one rear poly mount before and I'm worried it may have happen again on Friday. I've still gotta crawl under the car and check.

To me, this is the most impressive N/A run ever for a Tiburon. Solo ran a 14.6, but that was with I/E/P and hundreds of pounds of weight reduction.

What boggles my mind is the fact that his trap speed is also high for I/E. Very impressive, once again. I think we need a link to those coil boosters. If they're only $20, they're worth it simply for testing at the track with and without them to see if they truly make a difference in traction and time.

Mike, I'm a little worried about the fact that you said you're experiencing extreme wheelhop. I'm only running bolt-ons right now with newly installed Poly F/R mounts, and wheelhop is almost entirely gone. After cams, it looks like it's going to be an issue again. ****. Also, I'm a little surprised that your Eibach Pro-System isn't helping traction either.

I almost posted the same thing about the trap speed. I mean, I regularly trap in the 96's, and he is trapping 95 with alot less power. It just doesnt make sense....

I have also used those spring rubbers in the past, and they do make a big difference. Photoman had a big post on where to buy, etc. so you should be able to search for them. Or if you go to your local Checker/Autozone, they sell them there for like 8 bucks (I think they are called coil boosters). I typically put 2 in each rear spring, with an additional one in the drivers rear to keep more weight on the drive wheel (passenger front).

well thanks guys , i thought it was pretty impressive . i got to get bluegtv6's girl to scan the slip ( she somehow knows how to make it show up ) so i have proof . i know no one seems to be questioning this but id feel better with my timeslip up .
aaaaaaand as im typing this i realize that the slips arnt sitting here , and im starting to learn the joys of living with women ...... cant leave anything around as it will get lost or thrown away . im going to look for the slip , if i cant find it ........ im hunting my girl and her mother down and gunning them down .....

( im picking at the solo argument ) did anyone read into the fact that my suspension is stock other than the spacers ? he also didnt have a sunroof . as well as all the lightening that was done ( more than what i did ..... plus im a fat fvcker 220 lbs ).

Work on that reaction time. If that were bracket racing, you would of lost because of that. Even though your car ran faster, his reaction time was lower, and added up, that beats you :(
