Well, I got into my car today after work to drive home, and wouldn't you know it. The Airbag light was on... Wont turn off. I was thinking about disconnecting the battery to reset the computer, but figured that would only be a temporary relief. Just another thing to add to my list. I thought someone might have backed into my car and tripped a sensor, but I don't see any scuffing to suggest this... Sitting in the hot parking lot for 8 hours was the only thing that happened to it...

Any thoughts? Still have an extended warranty on the car, so I have a feeling I am going to be dropping it off at the shop (again) and drive a loaner around for a week or so (again).

Yes, I searched. Concluded nothing. Just figured I would see what your thoughts were on the reason...

mine was the seatbelt issue when mine came on. but for some reason mine was the pass belt not the dirver like they seem to always be

this happened in my `03. figured it out to be the wire connection running to the seat belt, under the seat. Wasnt much i could do about it. It happened 4 days before i traded the car so i just yanked the fuse rather than give Hyundai any more money for rediculously overpriced repairs.

Check that though, could be the culprit

yeah, I'll give the wire harnesses under the seat a giggle. But I would much rather get one of their more reliable loners for a week or two ;)

^heheh

Pull your air bag light fuse, if you're looking for a cheap temporary fix. It's labeled "AIR BAG IND" on the bcm fuse box.

Or find junkyard or online used parts listings...buy both seat belt receptacles. Try them out. Sell whichever one isn't the culprit.

Installation/removal process is a 2 out of 10 in terms of difficulty.

Unless the dealer is going to cover it, then by all means....except for the part where you're letting a hyundai dealership of all things work on your hyundai. ;)

Man... Its been a long time... How's everyone doing?

Well my Wife's 2004 Tiburon GT/SE V6 has 103k miles on it and its time to replace a few odds and ends. I was surprised to learn (from this thread) that her airbag light was from her newly broken seatbelt buckle. I want to know if the buckle part is universal in the GK's - I bet I can get one for $10 from a "you pull".

thanx
