The picture is of a Scion tC with the Pioneer Avic D3. I want that head unit, and notice the flap. I want something like that to conceal the unit. Any options?

and the lexus sc430 has that same thing as well... if you made enough room above your double din, it would mostly have to be custom, but you could put some brackets and a little motor in (mayyyybbbe) take it to a local stereo shop and get a quote unless you're gonna do it yourself

i didn't even look as to what was on the screen of the pioneer.. i thought it was just a dvd/nav, but that things is sick.

Well the flap isn't part of the pioneer, it is part of the tC. I called best buy who I'd have install the unit but they're clueless as to how I could have a flap like that.

I Started in the process of making one for my car but never got around to finishing it. But it is possible to do it and there is room back there.

I almost bought a tC before I wound up with my Tiburon and that little flap annoyed me. It's just a piece of plastic that pops down and covers the stereo and lifts up. It's designed very similarly to the sunglasses holder in our cars actually. Not sure if you've thought of this before, but how about checking out local junkyards to find a wrecked tC? Simply take that unit out, fill in the Scion logo, repaint it the color of your choice, and figure out where to put the brackets
