auto climate controls / HVAC / FATC buzzer question

I recently converted my manual climate controls to the automatic controls from the 05-06 models & have a question about the buzzer. According to the shop manual, the climate controls should beep whenever a button is pressed, however, my unit does not do this. I would expect a little piezo speaker to be mounted on the PCB somewhere, but I was not able to locate one when I had the unit disassembled when replacing the backlight bulbs.

Are these units actually suppose to beep? I don't see anything on the PCBs that would resemble a speaker of any sort, and the only other place I could see them hiding it would be under the LCD, but I'd rather not remove that. I unfortunately cannot provide the year of my unit as the seller had it listed as from an 08 tib, which is unlikely since it's the 03-06 style controller.

Alright, I saw another one on eBay for $30, so I decided to buy it & guess what? IT DOES BEEP.

I took it apart, and there's a piezo speaker right where I thought there should have been one on my $20 unit, but for some reason that one didn't have one. Didn't look like it was removed either, it just looks like it wasn't installed for some reason.

My first module also was advertised for a 08 Hyundai tiburon, which had a much nicer looking climate control system so for all I know it could have been for a completely different car.
