I installed it in the pipe right after the cat (right before the borla resonator). It is not as restrictive as the stock exhaust so I am still flowing more air, it just gave the headers/exhaust combo a better balance of backpressure in my opinion. The car feels much more responsive in daily driving and it is much more pleasurable to drive without the drone.

 

so the best place to get them is off summit? i may go with the 3 disk because i have headers and it is toooo loud it gets annoying cruising at 80mph

Nice review man - I wonder if I'll feel the need to get these with my Injen exhaust and SSA headers? We'll see I guess, but it would be nice to not have to worry about losing some bottom end power. I like my torque for around town. Hey, how did you personally decide to hold your inserts in place? Pop rivet?

 

I had them weld it in at the muffler shop. It cost me like $10 I think.

 

i am gonna weld it in myself i guess. maybe 4 or 5 beats instead of all the way around

 

If I have the KORE exhaust and the Y-Split is about a foot after the CAT does it have to be welded since the splite will keep it from moving?

it may rattle a little. Just take some pliers and bend out the flanges a little and pound it in with a hammer and it will be fine.

Just finished instlling the 2 disk unit. Took alota grinding to make it fit. 2 tack welds to hold it in. All I can say is, holy crap! What a difference! The drone is gone! Photo, thank you for a great find an great write up. I love this "dronebegone" LOL
