I did the clear corners DIY tonight. Everything went smooth and i put the lights back in, except when i turn the blinkers on....on side doesnt work and then wen you pull it out it does....and the other side stays on and wont turn off. Its obviously the wiring but now neither of them are working and i really dont know what to do.

One side totally wont work when you put the headlight totally in, i tried taping the wire so nothing moves, but it wont work. I actually got pulled over tonight, cops in my town are the biggest dicks, you have no idea. I need to get these fixed (or the wiring at least). was wondering if you guys had any ideas?

wow thats really odd. never heard of anything like this happening.

all i could say is to check all the connections. i dont see how something like this could happen in just a couple hours time and not even messing with the car other than disconnecting the wires.

hmmm, well i would stick the orange peice back in there and hopefully you havent painted your headlights. then, if they give you crap about you tampering with the headlights, say it was maintanence.... and youre allowed to do that.

did you double check the bulbs are in right ? some 1157's have 2 points at different heights on the side of the bulb, maybe you don't have them in all the way, i don't understand why it works until you put it in the car, unless i read that wrong?

ok, i think your one that says on is ok, they are supposed to be on and then they flash when you signal.
i think the other one must not be in all the way or a loose conection.
put the bulb in it's socket and turn the car on, then move the socket around , wiht the light on, to see if the wire is bad in a certain position, the wire must go into that position when you install the light assembly.
once you know where that point is, find the loose spot and fix.
i hope this helps!

ok i fixed the lights...but now when everything is on...they dont blink...like my dashboard has both blinkers symbols lit up and they jus stay lit...they dont blink....its the same thing with the back....im really confused could it be the orange bulbs i put in?

do the orange bulbs have 2 filiments ? you need that , one to stay solid and one to flash, there should be 2 liitle wires inside, do you know what i mean? try your clear ones as a test, if they work , it;s the bulbs.

no ,they are still 1157's , you just have to look for the 2 filaments.save those for the back, if you ever clear your tails, they are one filament. i have had clear bulbs in my clear corners for over 2 years, it's not illegal everywhere, i think white and orange are ok.

with signal lights they act up to let you know one is burnot out or somthing is wrong, i bet everyting is fine now and it will be fine with orange bulbs aslong as they are 2 filament, like the clear ones. your wires are looking for the 2 filaments and can't find them, so the current is all messed up.some cars your hazard lights will stay on solid to let you know one bulb burnt out. don't worry your car sounds fine, you might be able to return you one set for the right set, just say woops wring set.

woops, looks like they are 2357, same size and shape, that must be the code for the 2 filament.

hehe i got 1157's in my signal bulbs and they work fine. but i do remember i had problems with my bulbs do the same thing when i first tried to put em in, i was worried it was the wiring so i switched the bulb that was working with the one that wasn't and it lit up there so i put the bulb that wasn't working into the place where the working bulb was and it lit up, I dunno what it was but they both worked fine ever since.

sounds weird man i have done over 10 sets of clear corners this winter alone.....( I guess i am the New official Ontario Clear Corner HOE) lol

but never heard of anything like that happening man you got me stumped ???
