Since the engines in the tiburon have a low potential for power has anyone tried to design a new engine specifically for the tib. I know it would be expensive but it seems like several people would like a different engine. I would like to attempt this in several years but cant any time soon. Just throwing the idea out there.

There was once a Tiburon with ~900hp (with nitrous). It was the I4, full drag car with I forget how many pounds of boost. Something close to 30 IIRC. This is how it looked:

So, these high horsepower figures you speak of are possible on the Tiburon's motor. However, this basically limits you to a drag car only. Like others have said, there's more to cars than horsepower figures. If that's the most important factor to you, why not buy american muscle? You can hit above 600hp easily with a few modifications to a Corvette. Plus, it's RWD.
