Now since I drive an s2000 posting any street encounters on this forum is kinda pointless, but this one holds a special place in my heart, and I would like to share it with you.
Anyways, it's a 4 lane road and I'm at a red light. I'm in the far left lane, and an Acura TL (Not the new tl's, the gen before, the "rounder" ones.) is in the far right lane. At this point in time I realise "Oh ****, I'm in the wrong lane and I need to take the right exit coming up!", but the exit is literally less than a 1/8 mile down the road, and I need to take off like a bat out of hell to make it.
Lo and behold the Acura in the far right lane needs to do the same exact thing, he needs to get the hell out of the far right lane, so he doesn't accidentally take the exit sending him way off course down a major highway.
The two of us are completely oblivious to this situation right now, but once the light turns green we have a problem. We're both going balls out trying desperately to get out of our lanes. I see the look on his face, he sees the look on mine. Time slows down as we lock eyes with each other, the roar of our engines is a mere whisper compared to the furious beat of our hearts. White doves explode out of the sky as I shift into second, the drips of sweat caress my face as I study the road ahead and nervously grip the steering wheel.......whoah got a little carried away there....*ahem*.
Now it's "Who's car is faster, and who can get to their chosen destination first". Determination takes over and I'm tearing through the gears trying to pull ahead of the Acura.
By the time I hit VTEC in third, I manage to get in front of the Acura and change 3 lanes over and barely make the exit. So I guess I won, or something.....but was laughing pretty good at the situation. Damn those TL's and their TQ.
