so i know this has been discussed a few times. but i have yet to figure out what is the way to fix this problem. installed Diode Dynamics HID kit with relay. when i turn them on i get nothing but static thru the stock radio (only radio stations not ipod) i grounded the two ground cables to two bolts right next to where the headlight bolts are. just like in the DIY http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156229
is there anything else i can do to get rid of the static or when i need the headlights am i forced to not have the radio? thanks in advance for the input. as i stated earlier i did search but could not come up with anything that said yes this will fix the problem...just a lot of speculation.

Sure, run a ground kit or make your own....Start at the Neg battery terminal, hit both head, tranny, intake, front sub frame and body.


Are they Relayed?? If so did you use the radio ckt?


If not, relay them off of the headlamp ckt for the signal, power for hids coming straight to battery with an inline fuse. Solder everything no crimps. Make sure your ground is attached to the same piece of sheet metal your battery is grounded too.


These cars have some seriously weak ground connections.

yes they are relayed. used the ground connections that came with the relay. everything came from diode dynamics. i grounded everything where the DIY linked above grounded theirs

Generally using a better ground point, adding ground wires, and/or moving the ballasts around can eliminate this issue (as well as any issues with TPMS sensors)

okay. do you by chance have any input as to where a good place would be for the ballasts and grounding points?

Try grounding the relas directly to the battery
