Idle Adjustment??

Definite answer? Can we adjust it? WIll it have any negative effects on the TPS or IAC over time? Will the ECU adjust itself to compensate?

Well I'm not really looking to improve my throttle response, but rather bump my rpm speed up a little at idle.

Anyway - I thought I read somewhere that you can remove that little white plastic plug on the intake side of the TB and there is an adjustment screw underneath it. So is it that you can adjust it, but the ECU will just readjust the IAC to compensate... or can you not adjust it at all?

The idle speed actuator (ISA) creates a vacumn leak to control the idle, so it would seem that would be the place to start, but like you said, the ecu may compensate. It would seem to me that adjusting it by the throttle cable, you're putting enough tension on the cable to open the butterfly enough to raise the idle. I assume that may hold, because when we installed sofakingrich's blower last weekend, we had a high idle (1100) until I readjusted the slack in the throttle cable. I have a mafterburner Tyler, and I know you have one and I think also an SAFC(2) which I'm not familair with. Are there any throttle bumps you can perform on a piggy back?

Ive got the same problem too, i did my IM and cleaned my TB and now im idling at 3k. So do i just adjust my cables or what?
When you cleaned your TB, did you remove the 2 sensors (TPS & ISA)? A corrosive cleaner can damage them, and removing the TPS throws the voltage off and it needs to be realigned on the TB.

The only way to adjust the idle would be to reflash the ECU....and since we don't seem to be able to do that here yet, you're SOL, my friend. If you try to manually adjust the idle, the ECU will bring it back down to the specified range and/or generate a code for idle speed out of range. Can I ask what you're trying to accomplish?

This is what happened, actually my dad was helping me with the install and dropped a piece off the TB. So i took it into a shop and they found the problem and fixed it. Now its sweet..

Question, anyone have a BBTB that is good for the I4 tib.
