Well...take caution before ordering OEM switches because the TCS button is momentary (turns on only as long as you're hold it down). Also, the buttons aren't universal in their fitment (center console vs. left side of steering column).

EDIT: You can always primer the button and paint it flat black to get rid of the lettering :3_bier:

Yeah... no it's not. Nobody in their right mind, even if Daewoo was still around, would put a TCS on a momentary switch. Why would you have to hold a button for traction control?
^That^ was a huge question in my mind too!:

EDIT: Here's another one:

http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178331&highlight=switch

I've been looking into this for a long time and think I may have a solution...with the help of The Dupleman himself :) I just need to get it before I can test it out...

I may be a newbie to this site BUT that does mean I'm new to the world
My electrical engineering degree says I know what I'm talking about..................................................
Haha, no worries...I'm not sure who would doubt your knowledge based off your posting status. We were ALL there before :3_hypocri

So, what types of electronics would you say are appropriate to use in conjunction with the TCS switch (popular auto applications of course)?

I shouldn't have said anything about this cause I plan on doing a DIY on this once I'm done with my research..
I'm glad you did because it gives us options in the meantime. If you made a DIY on wiring a flip flop switch into a TCS switch...you would be a saving grace to many of us! From the sounds of it, you have a wealth of knowledge that we could all benefit from! :3_winkthu

You see, the problem that everyone's encountered is the fact that the foglight switch doesn't fit correctly to the left of the steering column. Everyone wants an OEM on/of switch in that area that actually looks OEM! Your idea just may be what we've been looking for...can you make it happen with the TCS switch?

Nice those are what I'm looking for! OK know I have to find a useable premade
flip flop relay. The ones I found are from the UK or something
If you have any issues ordering from the UK, let me know and I may be able to get someone to ship it to you :3_yes:

This is super nice! The only problem is you're probably a lot more advanced than most of us, which means that most of us can't fully understand the diagram you just made. Can you physically complete this mod so we can all see?

Bear in mind I'm disabled in lots of pain and dealing with idotic government to get whats mine.:3_steam: SO I have alot of time on my hands
I'm sorry to hear the bad news, but realize the good you can do in light of the situation.

Buy the switch here (Soulfulracing - NT Sponsor):

Buy the TSC switch harness at DiodeDynamics.com. I can't find a link for it, but talk to Paul and he can send you one.

Would like to know if they are real, know what I mean?
Haha!...I know what you mean but they are, indeed, real :3_yes: Paul (Diode Dynamics) sent me an OEM foglight switch with the harness for my Angel Eyes.

EDIT: You're undertaking a pretty big project with the whole Traction Control idea...I couldn't even imagine what goes into that...

Now that I think of it maybe I or we should get together with this Paul guy and discuss him stocking premade flip flop relays So we can take care of this pesky momentary switch problems. everyone seems to have.:nerd:
That's a GREAT IDEA! I like the way you think! Let's take it a step further, though...what if he not only carried the flip flop relays in stock, but also had them prewired to the TCS switch and ready for plug and play!?!?

PM was sent to Paul J. McCain of Diode Dynamics. Hopefully he can chime in on this.

I've outran cops in a neon before HAHAHAHA:3_fyou the cops
Amen to THAT!

Fort Lewis in Tacoma...Washington is a beautiful state.

If anyone is curious, this is what happens when you put a switch that is designated for the CENTER CONSOLE to the left of the steering column:

(This is another NT member's foglight switch pic)

^THIS^ is the problem we're trying to solve...

No, I've been kinda sick lately (BEWARE I think I may have givin' myself a hernia putting on my catback LOL)
breaking the front 2 bolts are a real b ***** ch.

But I was just looking at your picture above and I had my switch out the other day. there are little clips on the side of the switch holding the cap on I wonder if you can exchange the fronts of the switches ??????
like take the back of a foglight switch with a tcs front
Breaking those bolts suck!...but it happens all the time. What exhaust setup did you go with?

That's a GREAT IDEA!!! Why haven't we thought of doing that sooner? :einstein: This would eliminate the entire issue. We would have an on/off button AND it would sit flush. What would you do with the green indicator light, though?

So anyway I think I'm rambling on to much so I'm gonna shut up LOL

P.S could you tell what your having trouble with in my flip flop DIY
I would be glad to help
I didn't see that as rambling at all...it was actually very good information. You're helping us understand the functions of the components and how they affect the "whole".

I haven't tried the flip flop DIY yet because I was under the impression that you were going to physically try it first...wrong assumption? If so, I can give it a shot...I just have to order the switch and flip flop.

As you say, using a relay is a good idea for high-amperage applications. However, if all you want is to convert the TCS switch from being a momentary switch to a holding switch, that is very easy.

You beat me to posting your own DIY! Haha!

To anyone reading this...please be aware of how epic bblackmoor's DIY is!!! Absolutely epic and completely resolves this thread and any one like it. Thanks again, buddy!

+1 for epic DIY post
