hmmm, yeah i emailed the guy and he said that blue couplings was all he had.... and since i wanted black i would have to buy new ones anyways. and i might as well buy hose clamps too. so that wont be a problem. so im guessing you got the ebay intake? are the walls smooth on the inside?

Lighter than stainless steel, so it's not as strong. I don't think this makes much difference. However I've heard some questions here about corrosion resistance.

Take into consideration that the I4 has a MAF on it as well... so you will hafta modify those cheap ebay CAis so that your MAF doesn't throw a CEL. I went with a custom SRI and haven't regretted it... saves money, looks fine, and gains are, as I'm told, comparable.

I think everyone likes to bash the Ebay intakes because they spent 3x as much and didn't get 3x more performance. In fact, they didn't get any more performance. I refuse to believe there is any tangible difference between an AEM or Injen and the intake I got from Ebay.

Remember, ALL IT IS IS A FVCKING PIPE WITH A FILTER ON IT. That's it. That's all.

Buhmed, I didn't have to modify anything on my intake. I put it on, reset the ECU, and it runs fine. No CELs, just more power, and a nice growl. (I got mine from liveonspeed, and it's great. There ARE some that are crap, but my ebay intake is just fine. I recommend it to anyone)

EBAY INTAKE BASHERS: SUCK ON THAT AND CHOKE.

well i agree with both of you guys and im seriously gonna buy the ebay intake. but the thing that is holding me back is the fact that its even a little "shakey" on the fact that the material is not as good. i mean, if an injen, aos, or aem is gonna last me the whole time i have my tib and an ebay intake is gonna last me a year because of corrosion or whatever then id rather just go with a "quality" brand name product

Whats louder aem or injen? im not askin which ones better i know thats been asked a million times but does anyone know which one sounds louder?
had to make new couplings, replace hose clamps & replaced filter with K&N. the kit was made in china didn't trust the filter. installing a bpv could be tricky-you'll have too do some pipe cutting. i also read that it should be in line (height wise) with the intake maifold.

9 times outta 10... almost ALL CAIs and SRIs will sound pretty much the same... so to be honest with you, I don't think you will notice a difference between them. I've spent alot of time with various modified Tibs with a grand variety of SRi and CAI brands... and honestly the difference is usually minute at best. If I were you, I would go with the one you trust the most to make the gains. In that dept... i would recommend injen... they've gained a respectable reputation for performance.
