Keyhole Covers - NIA Auto Design

I've been working with Kevin at NIA Auto Design to create door handle keyhole covers. The purpose of these would be to give a better flow of the exterior...I absolutely hate the look of the keyholes and, worse, don't even use them as I'm sure the majority of you don't either. Kevin has come up with a design to cover the entire keyhole surround for a subtle and OEM look rather than simply using a circular "plug"...quite genius if you ask me. Here's an example of the section it would cover:

We want to get an idea of how many owners might be interested and, as a result, create a limited group buy if these go into production. These will be color matched to your Tib and ready to install in seconds. Price isn't available as of yet, although, it is expected to be very reasonable.

***Update*** 2/8/12

Official Pricing is now posted!!!

Primer Only - $35

OEM Color Match - $59

Shipping - $6

We'll start off with a deposit of $20. If we get 10 deposits within 30 days, NIA Auto Design will start producing the keyhole covers. By the rare chance we don't receive the minimal deposits then everyone's funds will be refunded. Because we are pretty certain that things will go according to plan, NIA has already began purchasing OEM door handles for R & D.

Deposit should be sent to the following Paypal: kevin@NIAautoDesign.com

Please copy and paste the following information into your paypal message and fill in the blanks accordingly:

This is my $20 deposit toward the Hyundai Tiburon keyhole covers. I love you, Kevin ;)

NIA will fwd me the information and I'll update the thread as it is received. By the way, you don't have to write the "I love you, Kevin" part Haha!

As long as the price is not insane I would definitely be interested in this. Planning on making one for the trunk too? Lol

Definitely...Kevin just wants to get a feel for whether or not this would be worth his time.

The way I see it, these are necessary for anyone who plans on showing their car or requires a "finished" look without eliminating necessary components.

i'd be interested if you can get chrome ones
If not, you can always receive them "primer only" and rattle can with chrome. I'll check with him to make certain and get back to everyone with an answer.

By the way, if these go into production and you miss the group buy, Will51 will be selling these through his website as well as he is an authorized NIA Auto Designs vendor...but it will be full price.

Sign me up after prices :) also could I use a third one for my trunk keyhole?

Alright...this is definitely looking good. All interests have been updated.

I spoke with Kevin and he threw a VERY premature ballpark figure out there and estimated they would sell, regular price, around $30 - $40 + paint. He also said it could be cheaper depending on labor time. However, if a GB is created, the price will obviously be lower based on bulk.

Tib specific...moulded around the actual stationary section that flows from the door handle and around the lock...the entire raised portion around the lock.

I'm sure if this goes well he'd be willing to expand it to his other cars...maybe even Subi's ;)

Interested pending knowing what the group buy rate will be...

Thanks for all the effort Shadow!

Well, what Kevin's looking for is whether or not owners like the idea and would be interested in purchasing them. He may not put these into production and, even if he does, it doesn't necessarily mean that there will be a GB created for it. His profit margin could be so small that a GB might actually cost him money...ya know? He hasn't been able to crunch numbers yet. Remember, he owns a professional business which runs out of a company building...legitimate operation which must appoint it's time correctly and make sense of it's profit.

...and you're welcome. I do what I can in the spirit and interest of our community ;)
