dude you can get 15 in slicks for about 150 a piece, John ran 22 x 10's(I think) on his, pm him about the steelie wheels he used got them at a local wrecking yard for cheap they came off some GM car, he got Mickey Thompson ET slicks i beleive.

They are 22x8x15 MT Slicks.. Im going to 24.5x8x15 real soon..

 

Is that what he is running on the street.....lol. With all that money invested I would have thought he had better street tires.

Mitch my car is only on the street long enough to get from the house the track and back to the house on Fridays. Total round trip is about 16 miles. If I ever start driving this car on the street I will upgrade the tires. Im just a tight wad and dont wanna spend the money if its not on more NGM stuff.. lol...

On street tires at the track what RPMS should i even attempt to launch the car at? What are you guys launching at with and without slicks. Just curious thanks

Best of luck on street tires and "launching" the car. Get slicks they are your only hope.. Save yourself some money and dont get Drag Radials they are not gonna help you much at 285whp and "launching" the car. I still get some tire spin on slicks. Not much but some.

well if i got drag radials like the Falken RT615 i would be using those for around town driving...

my only problem is launching the car right now with the stage 4 on there with the clutch/ fidanza flywheel, i can no longer launch the car at 2.5k like u could with the old clutch, cause the rotational mass is like what, 15-20 lbs less; and the fact that the new one doesnt slip... i was at the track last night and i kept wanting to launch it between 2.5-3k and i would just chirp then go into wheel hop... i need to be launching it at least 3.5k right now considering all the torque loss

 

The only way to really launch the car hard at the track is with slicks, otherwise you got to baby first and second gear. I have a set of BFG DR's I used to run, and i will prolly never use them again since I bought slicks. They are useless when you are puting down over 250fwhp.
