So now that I'm back I guess I could post up my new project. It's a Vortech setup and yes the blower is from RIPP mods, but nothing else. I will be running it as a draw-through setup with a recirculating BPV, as well as adding an external oil cooler to help keep the oil temp down. I'm also using an NGM icebox UIM with a custom reservoir setup to help with the air temps. Haven't started putting things together yet since I'm still waiting on a few parts to show up. Once everything shows up I'll start installing things. I have an appointment for the electronics and dyno tuning the 31st of Aug., wish it was sooner but oh well. So here's what I have for it so far, I'm probably missing something but I'll keep it as updated as I can.

Vortech V5 G Trim supercharger
3 1/2" 3ish psi pulley
NGM Icebox UIM
Ported / polished LIM
NGM 70mm Tri-flow BBTB
custom icebox cooler setup
custom external stacked plate oil cooler
Turbo XS recirculating BPV
DC Headers
Injen SES Exhaust
AEM FIC
AEM Boost / oil pressure / wide-band o2 gauges
NGK 1 step colder plugs
NGK wires
290cc injectors
NGM battery relocation kit
Catch can

Should be a lot of fun once I get everything finished. Also I'd like to thank Boostology, brazuka10, and especially Shady for helping me out and pointing me in the right direction to build this kit.

Nice build! Looks like everything is going along very well. Very challenging kit to install. Good luck with the dyno coming up and dammit get a video of that thing on it! Curious to see the numbers you will be putting down.

Ok so update, should be getting the car back today, they had some issues with the fic and the ecu fighting each each other so it didn't get on the dyne till Tuesday night. Yesterday was put stuff back together day and today they're making sure everything is working like it should.

So I got the car back but have another issue, while driving as long as you're in throttle everything is fine but when you go to let off the gas or try to hold at a constant speed it cuts fuel, then when you push on the gas again it hesitates and then goes back to normal. Sounds like a tps issue so we'll see when I take it back tomorrow. GRRRRRRR...................

Oh and it's not a stage 1 kit it's a stage 0 kit so I'm only getting 3psi and 198bhp on a loaded dyno. I'll put up pictures and the dyno sheet later.

answer my question about the maf and i can fix this for ya.

And what is the sensor plugged into the blower?

so the car is back in the shop again, they though that it was an issue with the tps and the 70mm TB so they put the stock one back on and it's still doing the same thing. Basically the issue is that the tps isn't reading the correct throttle open percentage and is cutting fuel and causing all the problems. The voltage is good on it though so they are going to check the FIC wiring again for loose wires, and if that doesn't work they're going to pull the tps tap from the FIC and put it back to the ecu and see if that works. And if both of those don't fix it them a new tps sensor. And if that doesn't work them I have no idea.

I feel your pain on that. I don't have the time nor patience to do what you did for the install. I'm taking my kit to an Ripp Mod authorized dealer/ installer here in Phoenix AZ. They've installed over 100 of these kits and will do it plus tune it for $1000. Next door is their dyno shop and I get three pulls for $75. I'd appreciate being able to guage your parts list for the build with what I have so I can make sure I have everything before taking it to them to get started.

The kit really isn't that hard to install, I did it on my garage in just a few days. The only headaches have been this rps issue the last two days. It's not a bad kit either, i'm looking at around 45 extra hp on 3 psi and that's with the 3.5" pulley. Just shoot me a pm of your list and i'll give it a look. Also pm shady if you have questions, he helped me on pretty much everything.

SO after a few more days of playing with different things and tweaking the tune a little more I think it's finally ready to come home. The shop put about 25 miles on it today with no issues so cross your fingers. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow so we shall see if it works.

So got the car back yesterday, unfortunately the issue hasn't been totally resolved. The car runs great for a while then the ecu and the fic start to fight each other and that's when I have the issues. TPS is good and the tune on the fic is almost perfect, all the afr's are good all the fuel trims are good. It's an issue with the ecu reading 0% throttle when you're cruising or you back almost all the way out of the throttle, and so it cuts fuel.

So short term fix is to reset the ecu when it happens, because everything goes back to normal once you do that. Then drive it till it does it again and reset it again. Hopefully the ecu will learn to work with the fic eventually. Long term fix is a standalone EMS, so anyone got a hydra they want to get rid of?

But other than that the car runs great, pulls hard all the way to red line. The blower sounds good, nice little whine. I'll get some pics up later today and maybe a vid if I can find my camera.
