Don't they normally come with gaskets and/or hardware? I bought a set of new ones off ebay for 3 something and it shows a bag full of gaskets and hardware but we all know how pictures and ebay go. I'm really hoping it does, I just installed my Borla cat back 2 days ago and my bolts were totally fuct along with the gasket. Had to cut both sides and drill out the bolt
Well, bolts on the exhaust under the car are going to be pretty bad since they're exposed to all the road debris, salt, sand, and elements. I had to use a impact gun to break the nuts loose on mine (a cheap Chinese made electric impact was lying around did the trick...) even after soaking in PB blaster. The nuts on the exhaust flange shouldn't be this bad but if you drive through A LOT of snowy winters, the rock salt and crap DMV throws down could deteriorate the metal more than usual.
My job was 100% OK, no probs and I had 90k miles on the tib living in VA the entire time. Every winter we've had snow, and this past winter was just NUTZ. So to keep from rounding the nuts, use the right tool and see below...
I bought the same ones!!! Good Luck with the install. Dingleweeds DIY will help alot
Grab one of these, 12mm offset wrench.
Using sockets and a rachet increases the chances of rounding the nuts when trying to bust them loose. A wrench is always better for this...
This offset wrench does a WAY better job in breaking them loose (after soaking in PB blaster too) w/o rounding the nuts.
Once you crack them loose with this offset, use a 12mm rachet wrench from craftsman to back them off the stud. It has the thinnest profile on the boxed, rachet end and fits in well, ESPECIALLY on the hidden nut on the AC compressor.
The offset wrench I had actually has a 12mm on one end and 14mm on the other both offset and closed, no swivel. It's long, thin and very low profile boxed end gets to most if not all the nuts on the exhaust flange. Use it as your "breaker" bar.
