all the trannies are strong. the clutches suck ( i guess i wouldnt want it the other way lol)

Does anyone make a torque converter for the auto?

In traffic and daily driving I like the auto. When taking fast corners or just having fun I miss driving a manual.

I wish they made a 5-speed auto for these cars, or aftermarket gear ratio adjustments.

I sometimes miss driving manual, but I'm glad I got an auto. Now I can do all the things you are not supposed to do. Like drive with one hand on the wheel and you can use your other hand to talk on a cell phone, eat some food, hold a beer, run it up your date's leg.....yup I am a rebel...jk

i've always hated automatics. When i had the GP's running i was doing autocross/road course racing, which is completely traumatization to automatics. I'm somewhat of a controlling person, i don't like things making decisions for me!

And stitch - bawhaha. Hold a beer and/or run up your date's leg...hey even the manuals have cruise control!

Honestly the Auto has the same rev limit as a manual, and that is at the fuel cutoff which is usually around 6600 to 6700 or so. And even as a N/A you can easily bounce it off that limiter.
The Manual Tibs can be reflash to allow higher rev limits. Normally to 7300 rpm but Ive seen one up to 8k rpm. My auto has been reflashed but the rev limit couldn't be raised...something else is controlling that factor and I think it might be the torque convertor.

Autos aren't as bad as a lot of people make them out to be. Like what bakerking said, they hook up really well from a dig, just look at some of the autos around here. Not to mention they can handle a lot of horsepower.

Why wouldn't cams be effective? I wouldn't increase the rev limiter on a stock block anyway, and you can still net tons of power from them in the upper stock rev range.
