Ok so, last saturday night im just cruising down westeimer with my girl, and a guy in a 350z ( sounded stock to me ), rolls up on passenger side, and he has the nerve to say this "Hey girl, ditch that *** in the gayuron and come roll w/me in a real car (I guess he thinks his 350z is a "real car", so does that make a tiburon a "fake car"? lol). Ok so I play it cool, you know be the bigger man, I'm like ok so let's do a roll from 20-60(60 being the speed limit lol) (lol tib's pull from 20 we all noe that). So I'm in 2nd and were rolling at 20, and we go, I downshift to first and floor it spinning tires, and by the time im at 55, I've already put about 1/2 to a car length on him. We hit traffic so we slowed down, and he's like you're a *** for rolling for 20, roll from a red light like a "true street racer" (WTF?!?! LOL), so we roll from a dig and I still put about half a car length on him. He flicks me off and says it's still a hyundai and tries to do a tokyo drift style u turn in the middle of traffic almost getting hit by a ford f-350.

Good times! :)

As a former Tib and current 350Z owner, I have to say I'm not sure abou this one. Even the most heavily modded N/A Tib (I'm talking cams) is going to have trouble with the 350. You really need F/I, could of been a really bad driver I guess.

shifting 1 gear is considered a race?
mostly depends on who goes first

Complete BS. And besides, Tibs pull best from a 2nd gear 40 roll, not 20 in 1st. A stock '03-06 Z runs 14.2 1/4 mile with an average driver - there is no way you can hang with it.

my recent experience with an auto g35 was similiar. roll from 20, and he was about to pass me at 110. i know the g35 auto first gear is realllllly tall. i was in it. if it was a 6 spd Z, than is should have really put u to shame though. from how short the race was, u prolly got the jump and he had an auto, and hadda wait till it downshifted. i know my tib will do 20-60 is prolly 4 seconds, so its not really lomg enouigh to be a race. o well, good times.

hmmmm i dunno must have been a really bad driver in the z. cause i used to have an 03 tib gt auto n had injen sri and stage 4 upper and lower. and from the feel i get from that and the feel i get from my z even when im not in boost. i know i could have pulled my tib easily in my z.

n damn at the number of former tib owners now z owners that have posted in this thread had no idea there where that many of us lol

^^if i was to get a z
i would get one in your year but in blue

it wouldn't happen though because i need a backseat

+1, lol

So who wants to start the official "Former Tib / Current Z Owners" thread?

#28 ·
must have been the worst driver ever in Z that night

I agree that autos pull hardest from a 20 roll. When I was just I/E, I pulled a little (very little) on a 6 speed with just intake. If you have an auto, the way to go is from a 20 roll.

Let's say the Z is stock.

I think some of you are completely blowing it out of proportion. The Z would not have "spanked" him or anything, like if he were to go up against a TT Supra.

It would have pulled away slowly on the roll from 20. Of course, add "his girl" in to the mix, and there's less of a chance evan could have won.

From a dig, that's complete BS. Must have been the worst driver in the world.

But I'd say that if an auto V6 with TUNED I/H/E rolled a Z at 20, the auto tibby would just barely lose.
