I'm thinking about going all out on more wheels in about 8 months or so and getting some extremely expensive Volks...I mean they are the rarest of the rare and only seen on Japan JGTC touring cars....

But I'm sure I can get an offset I prefer but my Volks dealer offers, from the catalog, the following sizes:

18"x8.5" +30 or +40 offset (5/114.3mm of course).

Simple question.

Does anyone run 18"x8.5 wheel and what offset are you running?

Would +30 offset in that size fit or would +40 be better choice?

Thanks for your help.

Would I have the tire/wheel sticking out meaning I might need wide body kit?

Well I searched and did see some people running 8.5" wide wheels but they had mixed results. Some said there was bad rubbing but they had lowered their car. Others said no rubbing but they weren't lowered.

Then even more had them but they were getting a wide body kit.

Does the Min kit have replacement rear fenders or not? Or do those arches just apply over the stock fenders?

The wheels are Volk Racing Forged Magnesium wheels...$1000 a piece...12.5 lbs. 18"x8.5" wheel. It'll take me a while to save for them plus tires so I'm just gathering data in the meantime, especially if I'll need body kit to fit them.

i havent heard of anyone having problems with 8.5 widths.. unless they lowered them
the min kit front fenders are replacements.. rears are add ons...
the rear is deeper tthan the front flares.... so to get em exact might taken different spacing....
8.5s might not be ebough.. but with spacers it should help

Thanks. I'll probably go that way then. If anything I can raise my car a little. I would probably have to do that with the kit anyway to avoid cracking it.

Thanks again.

if you have the cash.. or sponsorship.. try to invest in a cozy tech hydraulic lift kit... or something similar.. im workin my way to one of those to help with inclines and declines

Well I just viewed Hyundai website and APEXi Tib again and it said it had 18"x9.5" wheels. Those Volks also come in 18"x9.5" size as well. I might get those instead since they have been tested already on the Min kit.
