Well folks,,,, Karma has a way of commin around. To make a long story short, the tib is totaled. A truck was turning left , I was in the right lane and had to swerve into the left lane to miss a car that cut me off and ran into the truck at 45 mph. Good news is that Marie and I are OK and the tow truck guy told me that the truck was making an illeagle turn across a double yellow line so we will see what happens with insurance. Hopefully we can get the tib fixed and get it back, and get paid at the same time. Headers, sway bars and suspension here we come. Hope to be back on the road wit u guys soon, and Ill post pics soon. Man Im glad you two are alright. Did this happen on the way home or just happen over the weekend? Either way it sucks. Did the other driver admit fault or at least apologize? Keep us updated. My wife is an insurance adjuster so if you have any questions let me know. Also, who is the truck's insurance carrier?

Yea it happened about 6:30 or so. I hope they do total it. I want an 06 Tib. First of all I would like to thank all the well wishers. Marie and I are Ok, minus a few bruises sore muscles and sever whiplash. I am kinda dissapointed that the air bags did not deploy, we are getting a lawer for that and the fact that the guy in the truck was making an illeagle left turn. We ARE glad that one, we are ok, two, the pretensioners in the seatbelt worked, and three,that the belts restrained us properly. We already have a rental (ford taurus) so we aren't stranded, but its nothing like the tib. I will keep yous guys updated when I am. Thanks again, and PEACE

how much do you still owe on it? my cousin's car got totaled in a parking lot from a drunk driver and insurance only paid for the rest of the car, then he got nothing out of it. I hope you get a better deal than he did. good luck bro

Well we still owed about $16000 on it, BUT. About a 2 months ago the air bag light came on. We took it to the dealership to get it fixed. Got it back and the light was off. In my mind it is possible that the sensor was to low to register the impact, but you would think that at 45 MPH it would go off anyway, if anything, just from the shock wave. We are going to get a lawyer and sue the livin bajeezus out of Hyundai Corp for a possible design flaw. OR the dealership for possibly just rewiring the light to go off. They told my that they were having troubles fixing it while it was in the shop which makes me wonder. You also forget that we can also settle for all the pain and suffering, injuries, not just for me but my g/f as well, inconvenence, and other things. We will just have to wait and see what the lawyers think is possible.

PS not to get anyones panties in a twist but we are looking at possibly getting an Eclipse Spyder turboed, Evo, scion tc (supercharged w nos) or STI or (please god please) a GTO w/ NOS :3_yes:

PSS Are they not making GTOs in 07?

You may want to check and make sure your ABS Indicator light fuse is in the fuse panel in the dash. It is dedicated to just that airbag light and they may have just pulled it out to turn it off, then you can sue the super duper $hit out of the dealership for putting your life and girlfriends at risk, then you may be able to buy whatever you want! A GTO with NOS pulling a Eclipse Spyder turbo!

It happened Sunday evening. No one really admitted fault.. not really sure how it will go. He was making an illegal turn, which should be his fault. His insurance is All State... and from the sound of everything, his insurance company better be ready to pay up!
