The covers held on by 10 bolts I believe, then just take off the spark plug wires. I really wasn't hard at all.

yea, its buying a new seal, and liquid seal, and praying ur valve covers dont leak.

Well I just made sure to clean the flange real well, and made sure to put the rubber gasket in properly, I don't think it'll be leaking any time soon.

 

Not true brian i used the original valve cover gasket ib the front and haven't had a leak yet all i did was put about 15 ft.lbs tq on it which is about a half a turn.

hmm. my front valve cover came from the factory w/ a great feature...... a leak. front right screw. ur only supposed to put 8lbs on those screws.to 8lbs if i remember right. i would check on hma but the quality browser that microsoft puts out keeps crashing every time i go there due to its incompatability with java. and b/c hma sux a chubby, they are non mozilla friendly. i was going to post the whole procedure for the other kid on how to remove and reinstall valve covers.

well, from the picture it looks like the paint in uneven, and it has a few runs. could be the lighting though. maybe a different angle shot could help. either way, props to ya for taking the time to do it.

Agreed, I don't think it looks that hot. And from experience, I would have gone with something other than metalcast. Don't be surprised if it starts to change colors and chip. Metalcast doesnt hold up very well to heat.

But if you like it, thats all that matters.

actually the paint went on pretty smooth there is a small run but its not in the pic. My camera just suck balls and didn't get a clear shot, but I'm liking it a thats what counts. Some of us can't afford to go and get these done professionally.

Thanks, I'm planning on getting the rrm strut brace in red, maybe some wire looms too. I just don't want too much of one color, i've never been too good at coordinating.

I don't think its gonna end up looking bad either, i put a lot of work into prepping it and the paint was just fine after driving the tib for 2 hours. It should be fully cured within the week. I don't see why I getting so much hate for tryin something inexpensive to make my tib look better. Besides if it did turn out bad I always have my engine cover to fall back on.

Man, you will get hate for breathing and blinking your eyes! Pay no attention to it.
That strut brace will spruce up the engine bay for sure!

Service manual says 3.6-4.3 lb/ft, that seems a little light to me. I did the bolts to around 10 lb/ft, not a drop of leakage. If you want to make it last go with powder coating- http://www.powdercoatingit.com
