no i do not think he should get a refund...it was his decision to do it and as a user of NT.com he has gained plenty from the website.. this website has done so much for him and the tiburon comunity...i beleive that no one, no matter what the circumstance should get a refund...thats just simply rude and childish...he had his time on the forum and it was his decision to say things which got him banned...i do not personally know the guy but...from what i have read he doesnt seem to be that bad but back to the point...he should not get a refund

I actually think this should be left up to a VIP vote based on other people who donated to the site.

Personally, while I don't think it's right to request a donation refund, I don't think it's right to refuse it. Just give it to him and be done with it.

Why should I unban someone who hasn't acknowledged they may have slightly been a pain in the ass and reasonably try to communicate with me to make things right?

Unbanning isn't even an option at this point as I feel he has no respect for the staff and the members of this website.

I don't really care either way. I have only been here for 9 months, and well, I never knew the guy so . . . askin for a "donation" back isn't cool though.

As for the whole issue with people not liking mods and all. I would assume that their personal bias might play a role in some of their decisions regarding members, but there are plenty of people here how contribute jack-**** when it comes to useful info, mainly because if you want some info, it is already here on the boards, so we could just get rid of all the threads and just have the search feature and the Location based forums. A donation gets your name on a star on the wall for telathons. To be a VIP you pay $10 FEE to get access. If you want to stay a VIP member you have to pay the $10 fee every year. Kind of sounds like a membership to me.

I do agree tho that he should only get a portion of his "donation or membership fee" back because he has used part of the year he paid for. So that being said he should get back $.83 for each month left on this year membership ($10 / 12months = $0.83 per month). Not really any thing to complain about, but if he really wants his $.83 a month back let him have it.

I have been here every since the old forum was up. I donated a few bucks and have gotten sooooo much from all of you. Well worth the few $$$ I could spare. I will say there is alot of baby crap kiddy games in here. I have gotten a warning once from a mod because of my avatar was 2 women kissing on a counter. They were naked but NO private parts were showing and this mod sends me a pretty harsh warning. This was my 1st warning ever and this mod was acting like I just killed his puppy. I work in a place with an authority role (a prison) and I do know what it looks like when someone is on a power trip. I do see it in here. But hey--it happens. I do not believe Malik should get his money back because he donated at his own risk. Im not saying it was right to ban him but Im sure he got alot out of this site as we all do.

 

Maybe I'm oversimplifying here, but it seems like Malik's assertions about the forum view of the moderators are easily tested... make an anonymous poll, Jacob, and ask the members if they think the mod staff needs to be changed out or infused with new blood. If they vote that it does, then you can open the floor for nominations. Take five or six well-known/helpful members nominated by forum users, and have another vote on who should be made a mod. If they vote that it doesn't, you'll have your answer. Either way, you win, because you're showing that you do take complaints seriously.
