Man, the ricers are out in DROVES on this one... I didn't read much of anything after my last post of statistics burying the import lover in his own ignorance but from what I saw in the posts following that one it looks like you guys seem to be using the argument that "well if I can put 50k worth of mods into a civic and have it still be cheaper than a viper and beat the viper in a race, than the civic is clearly a better performance car than the viper" Riiiiiiight. Here's the problem(s) with that statement.
1) Not everyone has the time to install 50k worth of mods on their car
2) Every modification you do kills the factory warranty and makes the car less reliable since it wasn't designed to handle those mods/power whereas the viper was built for 500hp and has a warranty.
I can understand buying a cheaper import like an integra, civic or even a Tiburon because of monetary constraints and modifying it over time to make it faster. But modifying those cars is like a gateway drug kind of thing. It introduces you to speed and to modifications. It shouldn't become an obsession or lifelong passion. There's a time when you should go out to your garage and look at your turbocharged civic and say "damn, i think its about time i got something new, something that i dont have to spend my weekends modifying and dumping money into, something designed from the factory to go fast."
I'm not trying to change anyone's opinions here. To tell you the truth, I just want to hear the logic from the other side of the fence, and so far its exactly what I thought it would be; ignorant and illogical.
