Alright, so I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up...and I don't think Dupleman will be too happy about it. As usual, I received a package from a member to send to Dupe. Upon receiving said package, I was in complete shock of its damage due to insufficient packing. Tell me what's wrong with this picture:
The packing material included 1 single piece of 1' x 1.5' mini bubble-wrap in an oversized box which resulted in the items being knocked around the inside of the box. The bag of hardware was busted open leaving loose contents inside the box. I'm pretty sure parts are missing since there was a huge hole in the side of the box. To make things worse, this box was about 40 - 45lbs which is pretty heavy:
As you can see here, the bag of hardware is busted open with the loose pieces on the top right:
And here is how I re-packaged the item:
The moral of the story:
Please package items correctly especially when shipping internationally. I'm glad this package didn't go straight to Dupleman or else he may not have received ANY hardware at all. When packing items, the point is not to make it soft but rather to ensure the item(s) don't move. This is usually accomplished by using foam or simply packing the item very tight. Use good quality packing tape as well.
This is not a thread to bash the shipper but, instead, to make members aware of the results of improperly packaged items. Please be mindful when shipping to avoid future complications...
