trade a slow car, for another slow car...hmmmmmm

btw although its faster...still not enough considering those look like vomit mounted on 4 tires, keep the tib, save for a nice fast beauty

I agree with Cliff, they are ugly as hell .. and at the end of the day.. your still driving a neon .. If your miles are really getting up there then trade your vehicle in for something decent at least. Do you have a budget ?

Neons a chick car... just saying even SRT I looked into these before I discovered tiburon. You might as well trade for a miata :)

Miles getting up there... rebuild the tranny.

Srt-4's are ugly as hell, but to some people looks don't really matter. If you think the srt-4 is a good platform then go for it. However, I'd say trade in your car for an upgrade, perhaps something rear wheel drive. Subbies are nice so are 350z.

Unless you can get the same amount or more than you paid for the Tib, I think its a bad choice. If you're going to change cars, at least go with something significantly better/newer. This is especially true when changing to a 5 year old, turbocharged "tuner" car.

thanks for all the help haha but yeah my car has 95000 miles on it and i found this srt that has 59000 and it is completly stock hasnt been touched at all lol so that was the only reason why i was considering and also i can get that car for the same payment that i am paying right now. its just im afraid of how manny more clutches im going to go thew in my car : [

that's a decent price...I traded my Tib on an 04 SRT 4 years ago and have no regrets...it will never be as sexy looking as the Tib but it is so much quicker! there will always be haters out there and you will always here it is just a Neon, but for what it is it will beat many cars out there and they don't look so bad with a few mods...

I've got a buddy with an SRT-4. Not bad looking, imo. I don't think you're gonna ever get the sweet, sexy and sleek look you could with the Tib. But the aggresive look may work

Whether or not you should trade is up to you. If you could save some for something like a 350 I'd do that, but you're choice

Just the fact that I get bored of cars if I could get something newer wih less miles for the same amount a month I would say go for it.
Especially because it is a better platform, and I kind of dig the look of them with a few mods (I like the more aggressive look)
I would probably do it, depending on all the details between the cars if there were one around me that I could get with less miles and the same price.
But regardless whatever you decide, good luck.
Looks aren't everything..

Post a pic of it.

Here is the plain and simple. SRT4 Faster, but not sexy to say the least. Here is what we know about you. Tib is not fast enough for you, you dont have the money to make it faster, So you want to trade for a faster car. You will still be in the same situation over all. You love the looks of the tib, but dislike the speed. You like the speed of the SRT4, but dislike the looks of it. Here is what I have to say about it. If you want a faster car ( which it is obvious you do) Get the SRT4, If looks is more important then stick with the tib and save your money.

Now my personal input. You buy a bone stock SRT4. Your driving around one day, and all the sudden a tib pulls up next to you. It clean has a body kit, window tint, you can hear the exhaust. And nice set of wheels just spinning in the sun. But you are the speed deamon, this is the whole reason you traded. You catch your break, and get stopped at the next red light. It's your big chance to stomp a Tib and make your self feel better about the unser decision you made to trade. You pop the throttle a few times to get your new neighbors attention. He responds with a light pop of the throttle. Its on! You grab the steering wheel. Blow off valve is cherpping away. The wet fart sound is exploding from that thing Dodge calls a exhaust. The moment arrives, light turn greeen. You drop the clutch, and mash the gas. Your little hampters under the hood are running the wheel in over time. You launch off the line like you never have before. You know you got this guy. But wait you know tibs, cause you use to own one. You know what they can be. Thats when you look over and notice he is still right there next to you. Almost like he is taunting you. You quickly realize the race is already over. But you keep at it. Slam second gear, this is it either you walk him here or you know it's over for you and your little 4. But yet there he is right next to you. Taunting you further. Finally the illusion ends and the tib gets bored. Mashes the gas, and that's when you hear the Eaton MP90 SC begine to scream. You can bairly hear the pea shoot of a turbo you have. The tib rockets away from you. Then the real shame kicks in as you see his hazards kick on, and the break lights of the tib light up the inside of your car. You traded your tib for DODGE SRT4, all cause you wanted to go faster.

But hey maybe I am just partial to Tibs. But there will be a day when you run across one you cant touch. I think I will enlarge my auto hatred from just Mustangs GT's to include SRT4's. See you out there some day maybe.

Ah, I see. It was a creative story and I will admit you did actually have me in a SRT4 and experiencing the story. That being said, I guess that means you have a pretty successful writing style.

Oh, and + rep for not taking my previous post negatively and blowing up like most people would.

No reason to get mad, you were right. ANd thanks for the rep and complament, also for not getting mad at my rebuttel to your comment

from what i hear from srt4 **cough** i mean factory turbo'd neon owners in my area is they like to blow gaskets ALOT. they say it's not a problem on low boost, but still, idk i've never really liked the car...i say turbo your tib and keep it and call it a day
All Boosted cars have to worry about head gaskets. And it gos with out saying that the more boost you apply to said car the more concern there is. I think a better way to word this is. NEON's were desgined as a cheep economey gas saver. It was built with cheap parts overall. and this cant be denied. The only thing they did was adjust the ignition. Lower compression slightly by putting a slightly thicker head gasket on and touqueing it down a bit tighter. And of course adjust A/F Ratio. Then they threw a wing on there some decent wheels, and a nice big IC to draw all the would be F&F fanatics. Oh yea and a horrible sounding slightly larger diameter exhaust. That I am sure is only marginaly better than a stock Neon exhaust, and slightly stiffer " Sport Suspension". Hardly worth the jump in the price tag. considering the amount of maintance that will follow.
