I found a decent set of v6 SSAutoChrome headers for my 03 tib. Currently i have an Injen Cold Air Intake and Injen Super SES Catback Exhaust.
The SSA headers come with a downpipe and a highflow cat. Are these headers pretty good? decent gains? what are your thoughts? I'm about to put through the order :) Does it make the car extremely loud or not too bad? I'm really curious, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks again guys!

yes it makes your car loud, extremely? thats up to you. As far as a highflow cat, this means that you aren't getting it from SSA correct? Because SSA sells you a "Race cat" which is a fancy term for straight pipe. I have SSA headers on my borla and it sounds amazing. for the price I couldn't be happier.

well actually, ya it was called "a race cat", but for gains and noise, was it worth it? i like the sound of my car right now, i'm just worried it might get a bumblebee honda sound to it :p did you end up getting that full setup also, with the headers, downpipe, and "race cat'? i saw it on ebay and also wanted to know if you noticed an increase in power.

They're good headers, stainless steel has all 4 o2 sensor holes. Make sure you buy a high-flow cat or reuse the original cat. All headers are louder that just intake and exhaust, the more you open-up your car the more noise it'll make, irritatingly loud ? not at all-just sounds like performance to me.

so it sounds like i'll order them then :) thanks guys. noticeable power gains when driving at wide open throttle? like throughout the powerband?

I've got em. They give nice power gains, you'll lose some of the low end torque though. You might want to take the car to a shop and have them weld a resonator into the straight section of the catback. That's what I did, it makes the noise levels come down ALOT. Hope that helps

thats what i plan on doing, welding my resonator back in, or cut my cat off the old section and weld it back in, other-wise gains are decent, more on top end than anything. low end torque is a little lower than before, but not a whole lot IMO....

I have SSAs as well. I've had them for about a year and they are still shiny.... discolored... but shiny. No rust or cracking as of yet. Definately the best bang for the buck as far as headers are concerned.

i cant see mine their wrapped.... but they are sweet i have a catback as well and it is quiet, i dont know what you guys are talking about. It is extremely deep and has no rasp what so ever, it kind of sounds like a 350z.

where are you buying your SSA headers? ebay?

also where did you get it with the the cat already put on?
ya i ordered it off of ebay. It was like $275 US. Good enough price for me :3_nosthum So far I have an Injen Cold Air Intake, Injen Super SES Catback Exhaust, Shark Racing front and rear strut tower braces (on the way), and soon to be SSA Headers with "race cat" and downpipe :) It's in the shop right now getting the razzi bodykit put on it. It's red, so i think it'll look alright. The wheels are also on the way, set of black 17's with silver lips. Can't wait!!!!
Next year its forced induction for sure!!!!

What brand of header wrap did you use? Can you tell a big difference in engine bay temp?

yeah, i may want to do this too, especially on the rear headers by the alternator!!

ceramic coat them its the best thing to do.... keeps the heat WAY down. my engine cools off so fast now...and it looks good too. Really shiny silver almost chrome like and they will never fade or change color.

where can you get them coated (assuming they're stainless steel)? and for the SS headers, is the straight pipe ("race cat") welded on? or can you just unbolt it off, and bolt on a high-flow cat?

how much did the shop charge you guys to install the headers/ welding, etc??

ask around and search for a ceramic coating shop......its not welded on i have a high flow cat in its place it just bolts up....an exhaust shop near me told me $300 for the install...so i just did it myself for free...much better...
