So, last night at the local racing spot an accident took place. I know that NT doesn't condone illegal racing and yadda yadda. And, neither do I. The reason I'm posting this is to show you all the crap that can happen. Doesn't matter how good of a driver you are...

I used to go out to these spots to chill but the past few years it's turned from an innocent hangout of hundreds of cars to people being dumb and cops issuing street racing tickets and spectating tickets due to poor behavior...

wait, were they stopped on a street they weren't supposed to be stopped on? why was there a guy going 50mph on that particular street?

They were on a highway late Saturday night. Speed limit was 55 and the cars were lined up to race from a dig. Guy in the truck was drunk and speeding and didn't see them apparently.

Oh and the local track is 10 minutes from this particular spot. Last week they announced that the current lease was up and it's going to be shut down. I'm sure there will be more of this once the track officially closes, unfortunately.

It'll buff out aren't hondas made out of soda cans?

but really street racing is no bueno and drunk driving is no me gusta. Two wrongs certainly don't make a right

The guy that was in the Honda was lucky, if he had been going any faster he may not have walked away from that. I can tell you a lot of stories where people have DIED from racing on the street. It's facking stupid and immature, take it to the track.

^^^ This ^^^

For the record, most states have a minimum speed on highways for this reason (extreme example, obviously). Posting of the minimum speed is not always required depending on state.

Now, stop hanging out with people that street race or watch street racing.

And stay off drugs.

Go to the track. Even "harmless" stoplight digs aren't worth it.

Re: Honda street racing failure

while they shouldn't have been stopped/racing on a street, their taillights were on, and ffs, flames were shooting out of the exhaust lol. It could have been an accident or car trouble and the inattentive driver behind still would have hit them.

Ok theirs 2 different kinds of street racing . There is the kind that takes point in-front of traffic, then theirs secluded street racing which happens on empty roads that maybe 10 cars pass a day. These guys look like they were on the highway. These two were apparently ignorant.

If I street race it will either be from a empty red light. Maybe a decent pull on the highway.
Or back on industrial roads where there is zero traffic. I'm not saying I'm proud of street racing, But Id much rather get a race once a week then having to go to a drag fork out money, drive there gas money, and then drive home, and most the kids there have big heads. You find a friendly guy pull up next to ya and just wants to have a go thats racing.

Sad part is they probably can't even get cited for street racing since neither of them took off.

I hope that honda that got hit learns his lesson and never does this again and everyone there learns SOMETHING from it. I know if I was doing this and I was the guy who got hit (FYI I would never do this) I'd buy an average DD car and never go over the speed limit again.

This is thier fault for being stopped in the middle of a EFING HIGHWAY! And why is it that th dude faceing the other way telling em when to go not see headlights flying 55 mph at them!?

P.S. one less civic on the road :) oh well he only lost couple weeks of savings
