So I picked up the new Super Street when I got off work this morning and I am reading it when I come to the loud and clear section. I'm not gonna type the guys whole letter from loud & clear but he basically says that they always have the same cars and they are mostly cars not too many can afford to build. He tells them to check out the 2nd gen Tibs at RDtiburon.com(Which is wrong since the GK is the second generation) and they reply by saying "There may only be a few people on the world who can afford the cars we put in the magazine but there may be even fewer who would care to a see a Tiburon in their place". What a bunch of crap.

Technically isn't the RD2 (I think)the 2nd generation and the GK is the third generation.

#3 ·
That is a bunch of crap right there. The Tiburon is an excellent car, especially the styling. Sure, the available motors may be a bit underpowered at first (not for regular driving, of course), but a few mods clear that problem right up and the Tib is then able to compete with what else is out there. New Hondas and such are just plain ugly, but the Tiburon is classy and more traditional in terms of styling. There's nothing farfetched about its cues. So, there!

3rd Gen - Tuscani (GK)

Keep in mind, since "JDM" is the "in" thing now, if it's not Japanese RWD, it's not cool, and thus not worthy of a feature.

You're going to get pissed at something Super Street Magazine says? I, mean Seriously? Super Street is nothing but Rice if anything i think the sport compact market should disassociate itself from that magazine i read better magazines such as SCC or Modified Mag. Super Street is filled with nothing but arogant Honda loving pricks. there moto is "if it's not a Honda, It's CRAP!!"

#6 ·
yeah, I stopped reading those ghey "tuner" magazines in high school. they're all full of ricer trash. I usually go for hot-rod magazine if I do buy car magazines. occasiaonally when im in the engineering academic office I'll get to read the automotive engineering magazing.

I only get Import Tuner for the photography, Modified Mag for the articles and I got a free subscription to PASMag (who has featured a number of Tiburons, including last year's huge newtiburon.com meet - search forums for the thread I posted with article, and all the other Tib articles).

SuperStreet seems like it's written by a horny 18 year old, making fart and boob jokes in just about every article.

I'm pretty sure it's geared towards idiots.

actually, just like how there was a facelift for the GK, the RD2 is considered a major facelift, but not a whole new generation

1st generation: RD 1 AND RD 2
2nd generation: GK and FL

makes me feel that much better when i **** on WS6 and 5.7L SS and all those overrated other companies.
im not sure about the rest of you guys but my Hyundai holds **** down.

Actually now that you mention it, the body lines are exactly the same, just a whole new front and headlights.

But the FX and Turbulence should still be different Gens IMHO. But what do I know :3_koning:

How much do we care what they think?
We didnt pick our cars in error, we said, I like that, here's my money. If everyone agreed with us we'd get nasty superiority complexes. I suppose volume wise they are right to ask how many people want to see them...I reckon it's a small SELECT number in the big scheme of things. The only time these mags feature cars that are only around in small numbers is when the car is beyond most peoples wallets.
I looked at mine this morning in the early sun and my heart was warmed. Case closed.

What you just said, Glynn, is absolute. I love my Tiburon. I enjoy the transformations it undergoes. I enjoy driving down the road and looking at a Tiburon every 30-60 cars rather than the Honda's I see all day long...

well my classification of generations does come directly from hyundai, so i'm not gonna argue against the manufacturer regarding that ;)

ummm i dunno. i like super street. they make fun of everyone including themselves. and everything is geared toward rwd japanese cars lately with the whole drifting thing. they can write whatever the hell they want about tibs, all its going to do is make the honda owners more surprised when i whiz by them with ease;) SCC may be more technical, but nonetheless biased. on a side note, someone had recently written a letter to dave coleman in his column asking about the GKs. he said theyre great cars, but not much aftermarket support,(not as much as honda anyway) i think were catching up judging by the amount of sponsors here on NT now.
and this is the 1st gen tib

lolol, j/k

Oh, and Top Gear likes us. :)

**** this magazine lol, I'd love to see anyone make fun of my car after it comes out of the shop with custom paint worth more than most mods on other cars and that BoV screaming. **** 'em.

Who cares ? Really doesn't just about everybody in the "tuner" world blemish the name of other manufacturers ? Pretty much all people talk junk about cars they have never even sat in the seat of, much less having any knowledge of the engine or transmission.

#20 ·
thats cool wit me. let less of them like it. then there'll continue to be less tibs on the road than other cars :)

If you think we have alot of site sponsors you seriously need to go to SRTforums and look at their sponsor list.

I seen this on the HPforums and laughed to myself. I liked having a Tib because it wasnt in any magazines...keep them underground, thats what makes them different from a fvck!n HONDA. It would be sickening for the Tiburon to become another "me too" car. SS Magazine is a sushi mag anyways full of rice and stink! :3_toilet-

I'd be willing to bet that unless someone on this site has a straight up racing hyundai (sponsored and all that) no hyundai on here could say they could **** on my CBB. (Thats chevy big block for those who only know korean lingo :3_puhbye: )

*edit* and super street didnt "diss" hyundai, its THIER magazine they will put the content they want in it...the tiburon has been around since 1997, they are a car magazine...you dont think that they've just NEVER SAW ONE?! you'd have to be a fool to think that. they obviously dont want our cars in thier magazine. i bet they didnt give that sorry bastard his stickers either lmfao */edit*

I was going to post a thread about this but I guess you beat me to it. I was in class today and bored as usualy so I read that article and it made me so mad. All these big name mags Super Street, Import Tuner have cars that are heavily sponsered. You dont see any private people putting there own sweat and money into there rides anymore. Its all become about money. My Hot Rod U/ Import Tuning section of my Automotive training when I go to college is sponsored by Super Street and Im going be to bring this up, haters.
