I have a lot of wheel hop in my car. I am curious if anyone can tell me how to cure this problem, or what might be causing it. Thanks for any help.

Well it is a suspension problem to the best of my knowledge not a engine, or performance problem. I get it sometime and have not corrected it. I have added Eibach Pro Kit springs recently, but bad weather has not allowed me to test them. I am hopefull that one of the other knowledgable guys around here can help. Solo2tib, where are you?

I just talked to my friend who has the same problems on his SER Spec-V. He got upgraded engine mounts and that fixed his issue. So there you go.

Get the Alpine motor mounts for light racing, get the REAL mounts for hardcore racing, get the #m mounts if ya want to be cheap, and also coilovers wouldnt hurt either
I installed the Alpine front motor mount insert and that reduced my wheel hop from "outrageously violent" to "somewhat controllable." Motor mounts do help to reduce it, but the real key is in upgrading your suspension.

Wouldn't stiffer motor mounts make the problem worse?? Just wondering. Torque dampener could help, but I am not sure there is one made for the tib, as of yet.
Not at all. If anything the mounts reduce wheel hop drastically!!! Torque dampeners would pretty much do the same as mounts. It's either / or. It's probably cheaper to go with nice polyurethane mounts!!

Full coilovers tremendously. Check Groupbuy forum. hehe..
I don't think that working on the suspension is going to reduce wheel hop by much. Coilovers will definitely give a stiffer ride, but it won't totally solve the problem. The engine will still be rocking around. I dropped my car before replacing the engine mounts and felt a much smoother start once the stock mounts were replaced.

I meant in conjunction with the mounts. I have both front and rear mounts and quest coilovers and with the settings I have now wheelhop is almost non existant and the 1-2 shifts and 2-3 are not as violent as others when shifting under WOT at or near redline. So I say with both dramatic improvement can be had. I also have the phantom rip LSD conversion, thats something else you can look into.
